RAWALPINDI: An Army major and a sepoy were martyred in a blast on Friday near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Major Adeel Shahid and Sepoy Faraz Hussain were targeted by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by terrorists from across the border, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The attack occurred at a time when the Army personnel were supervising fencing work in the area – a critical infiltration route used by terrorists from Afghanistan.



Four Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred in two separate attacks in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s areas bordering Afghanistan last week.

The first attack took place in Upper Dir district near the border with Afghanistan where terrorists from across the border fired at soldiers fencing the porous frontier which resulted in the martyrdom of three troops. One soldier was also injured in the attack.

In a separate incident in North Waziristan tribal district, terrorists opened fire on a patrol of security forces near Abba Khel in Spin Wam area. One soldier was martyred in the attack. The military said two of the attackers were killed in retaliatory firing.

Love those Toyota trucks, The army chief and DGISPR should use them too. Bullet proof cars and Mraps are overrated, not compared to Toyota pickups.

Realistically the generals should starve then selves and raised enough money to buy mine resistant vehicles, but they went to bed with a belly full of food, while 2 families wont be able to sleep tonight or in the future. SHAME!

Fauji Foundation has gone towards the commercial route from being a welfare organization. The common soldier fighting needs to be given more attention rather than the people sitting at top posts. I hope we cut the luxuries we have and focus on necessities.
