PAKISTAN ARMY IS BEST ARMY IN THE WORLD says Gen.Raheel Sharif

Not even the US and NATO can match our experience ; they couldn't defeat shepherds with rusty Aks as a coalition of over 20-30 nations and and hundreds of thousands of soldiers. We managed to take an area the size of UAE from those terrorists.
This is what I have posted for you a while back as well. It is absolutely amazing how you ignore all facts and context while praising Pakistan Army.

Please note something important , that you forgot while boasting.

You were and are fighting the enemy to reclaim land (the size of Italy as your boastfully put it) - in your own country! You not only speak their language and have their religion. You are fighting in and on a terrain that you know - And not only that - thee logistics were a breeze for you - because the warzone is your country itself.

The Norwegians, Americans or other allied partners were fighting thousands of kilometers away from their homes! They don't share either the language, religion or the mannerisms. The logistics alone would be very difficult, let alone other aspects.

Any kind of comparison is fallacious and facetious. Lest of all any kind of feeling of being proud by Pakistanis at fighting a war in your own country.

What is that ?

You are comparing the Pakistani army, who is fighting in and on a terrain that you know very well and won't point out that the logistics were breeze for you as the war was within your country ! Comparing NATO armies with Pakistani army, who are fighting thousands of kms away from their homes on an unknown terrain, where (most) the local populations are seeing you as invaders, who do not share any similarity with you.... (language,religion,manners...) is a bit odd..

You forgot that the Talibans were evicted from most of the cities within weeks and that they are hiding like rats in their mountains........
I have mentioned pretty much the same thing to him. The fact that Pakistan Army allowed Taliban to capture a territory the size of Italy in Pakistan in the first place points to sheer incompetence of Pakistan Army. And this has extended to many realms. Pakistanis are simply brainwashed to sing praises for their Army - which despite claims to the contrary has not actually achieved anything in its primary task - waging war and taking of territory from India.

1: Coalition forces did months of training before entering Afghanistan; and were experienced from fighting Iraqi insurgents. Meanwhile our armed forces were never made nor were ready for a unconventional war; we were trained to fight in the fields - not in cities or caves. It was something entirely new for us.

2: Logistics was never a 'breeze' - the area never had roads or any proper infrastructure; unlike in Afghanistan. The best way to bring in supplies - was by quick heli drops. The warzone may be in our country, but please do know - we have a diverse climate and terrain. From swamps to deserts, from ice peaked mountains to endless fields - we never taught of fighting a war in FATA, nor were we ever prepared.

3: I'm an American national, and have lived there most my life - so how am I 'brainwashed'? Pakistan army never 'allowed' Taliban to capture territory the size of Italy - thing is; Pakistan army had no presence there, as it was governed by Tribal chiefs. Many tribes declared their loyalty to the Taliban, while thousands of Taliban fighters flooded into Pakistan from Afghanistan and of course we've taken territory from India. Again a bunch of Shepherds armed with WW-1 Era rifles managed to liberate 38% of IoK against the combined forces of the Indian army and the Dogra regime.

He is just proud of his employer/alma mater.. but as such it is not one of the worst or even bad ones. It does its job surprisingly well most of the time if one looks at its own cancers and those within Pakistani society that deter it being effective as it should.

In the world every where Enemies of Pakistan talking, discussing about Pakistan and Pakistan Army that shows how much important Pakistan & Pakistan army is for them and for world...

Yesterday i went to a public place for common pakistanis after a long time (lahore fort) and i was saddened to see the poverty of the average pakistani. And i lay the blame squarely on the army. Pakistan needs to demilitarize or atleast make the military just a working arm of government, not a separate thinking brain. Or else in 20 years time average pakistani will be beyond pathetic. He can be pitied at atleast for now.

PA the best in the world ??? not sure about that, yes it is a professional outfit but so are dozens of other. I think our darling Gen was smoking something.......:pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan:

So basically you're blaming armed forces for poverty in Pakistan?
Demilitarize? Completely? Who's fighting with all this terrorism? Working arm of government? Do we have one? We just a have a structure of government and its functional groups are corroded. I would say currently army is playing a major role in Pakistan's development. Pakistan is being recognized with positive vibes, people are feeling secure and started visiting Pakistan.

Compare the poverty rates of areas under military control with the areas under civilian control.

Army followed an isolationist policy which led to poverty in Pakistan. Siege mentality is the bread and butter of military men and any country caught in the clutches of a bookish military will be isolated and poor like north korea and myanmar. Only difference is that pakistan is a capitalist isolationist country therefore there is huge difference between rich and poor which makes the poverty more pronounced. But north korea is a socialist isolationist country and the poverty is divided equally among everyone which makes them look less worse.

Not really!! Its a good professional army but not the best. To be the best, you should also have great and most advanced weapons alongside training and morale.

Well it is obviously not the THE BEST ARMY maybe he got a bit emotional but our army is a professional army which is trained well and now we've the experience too so yes our army is ONE OF THE BEST to become the best you need to have most advanced equipment, weapons more advanced training etc. :)

If only that were true Sir.

Pakistan captured the area of Kashmir from the Kashmiri Dogra King. When Pakistan declared war on Kashmir, it was not an Indian territory, it had it own military and was an independent kingdom.

It was only after you waged war on them that they ran to us to sign the dotted line. After that, our military was flown in and your movement was not only halted (your forces had almost reached the capital) but pushed back to where you are now.

Your forces were airdropped as soon as the Tribals - and had already taken up defensive positions. The only area Pakistan army invaded and held was Azad Kashmir; the reason being, our Commander in Chief was british and refused to go any further. Most of the fighting were done by Tribals, Gilgit Rebels, and Ahmadiya militias.

If the not the best equipped army, certainly adequately equipped with excellent training programs in place and as disciplined as any military in the world complemented by years of combat experience in successful counter insurgency operations in some of the most rugged terrain in the world.
