The relation between US and SA are on the decline and may be that can translate to some weapon deals. Else i only see some more management collaborations, trainings and stuff like this!

They are expanding they are getting weapons form Europe too and also from China

That seems ironic, since Pakistan was more than happy to train and arm these beasts, with funding from Saudis.

The problem is, Saudis are not directly affected by TTP or whatever name we put on them. We are the ones stuck with them on our lands.

A short statement issued by the military here said that Sharif left for Riyadh at the invitation of the Saudi authorities.

"During the visit, COAS (Chief of Army Staff) will call on senior political and military leadership. The interaction will encompass Pak-Saudi relations with particular emphasis on defence and security cooperation," the statement said.

Gen Sharif was seen off at Nur Khan Air Base by senior military officials.

Bilateral ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have historically been close and friendly, with top leaders of the two Islamic states enjoying a special relationship

Its just on paper as a stamp.... otherwise COAS is an "independent" man.

So I think that the deal of leasing of 100k acres might get a green signal. But more importantly it would be on the dialogue process currently going on between Taliban and Gov.

Yes they should... but for that they should conduct state's full business. That unfortunately does not happen here. Whenever our civilian leaders go abroad they either go for securing their money or securing their seat of power, so for state they don't give a shi*, Plus I think that military commanders are allowed to visit friendly countries, there's no harm in it. specially the strategic partners such as china KSA...
