As far as I can see, the US wanted to use this opportunity as a leverage in Afghanistan policy. Remember, the US has also cut its financial support to Pakistan. And they tried to blackmail Pakistan. However, - may will soon fall into open sources -, when they seen the consortium of PAK-TR have a study on alternatives, these news stories fell off the agenda. Pakistan would lose max 2 years, but the strategic losses of the US would be much greater. Nowadays it is only on the agenda of the Russian media like Sputnik, and the Chinese biased internet media.

That is very true as well, but I think there is sea change in our attitude. I don't think Pakistan will get American helicopters. In fact American gear is now a thing of the past. Pakistan has viable alternatives.

Bro go even one more step further and make an constitutional amendment as politicians can be bought in our country, their are plenty of Zaradari's amongst us and put an end to all this drama once for all. I know every one here hates Uncle Sam
And blame the army for its biased approach to US weapons but every thing is not black and white
Late 80s and 20s Chinese systems were not par with US nor russian.
And majority of EU system had US strings attached directly or indirectly and over priced as well , Pakistan simply couldn't afford it
Army had to chose best option with best price
US equpiment were always given to Pakistan in discounted prices while EU was charging High Price Tag and many times free of charge.
Fault does lie with army but they were doing the best
I think this is the right time and you do see Pakistan Army taking this approach building local industry with help of china , Turkey.
Adding platforms different sources has its pros and cons as well.
