Thanks dude. And if anybody read it, its clearly written that 7 suicide attacks in less than 15 mins. And i also remember when Hamid mir was on front line with Soldiers he asked a Maj about that tank. The reply was same and the Maj added that a rocket ( I forgot its name its a shoulder launch rocket. its Gostov or something like that) was also fired on the tank. Still the tank crew is safe.

Yes but according to fellow hommie mjnaushad It also took a direct hit from a 84mm Carl Gustav! Amazing isn't it?

It can be either the carl gustav, most probably captured by Taliban in Afghanistan & transferred here, but i doubt it. I think the Taliban are using Russian hand held RR also. Seen many videos holding such weapons & firing them. Plus Carl Gustav can come from India also, as they use them for decades now.

Bytheway I have seen M-40 lookalike RR's on the videos when the Talis first went into Bunner it could have been that?

Carl Gostov is in service with armies since 1948, And is used by NATO in Afghanistan. So maybe its from first afghan war or could be captured from NATO in Afghanistan. And there are also reports that weapons provided to ANA(Afghan National Army) are being used by taliban in Pakistan.

There is no dent of suicide blast either. It could be that my memory is weak and i am not remembering well. i tried to find that video but its no where on youtube or any other site.So i officially taking my words back because i dont have any proof. I appologize.. But i think Al zarar can take that round without any damage. The Chinese Type99 was for armour testing was hit by 6 rounds of T72. The origin of those rounds is unknown. But the tank didn't take any serious damage from those rounds. (Its written on wikipedia)

The tank was hit by a direct RPG .... crew escaped... but two of them did not make it. One got a bullet in his neck while escaping and the seconding succumbed to burn injuries and embraced Shahadat three days later ..... The tank shown in the picture is Al-Zarrar and the place is Sultanwas ...!!!
the exact words of the major talking to Talat were .... 'we have taken a couple of hits, but then again, once u go in combat, you have to accept damages' ..... it is as simple as that ..!!!!

on what basis are you saying this? do you have any data to prove it or just inviting the flame war from Indians? 2 of the crew members didnt surive here if you check the earlier posts.

I know there is no such thing as an indestructible tank, but this tank seems to be very resilient.

Either the terrorists are incompetent or this tank is seriously strong. Good to know no matter what happens the soldiers will remain safe.

I'm not trying to start a flame war either but the Arjun is in fact not very well designed to take impacts. It has good performance; yes but the tank design is not made to handle impact. Look at pictures of all the latest tanks then look at the Arjun, you'll notice they all have something in common except for Arjun (they're more slanted). Just go look it up on YouTube, I saw an Indian officials interview regarding the Arjun. That's why they're working on the version 2.

Lots of T-59s got screwed in this conflict but most were salvageable. We lost 4 in Bajaur but they were all sent to HIT and they say they can fix them up. One was captured by the Taliban, we couldn't afford them having one of our beasts so we had a 500 pounder dropped on it. Not much was left.
