What's new

Pakistan approves Hindu Marriage Bill after decades of inaction

What now? U want to compare a natural marriage with an unnatural ones?

The question asked to Pakistani members were simple. Can an Hindu boy/girl marry an Muslim without converting? India has special marriage act. Does Pakistan has something like that?

for us this is unnatural too

. . . .
Muslims can't convert, period.
Happens pretty frequently in India at least.

The law should support the people, not oppress them.

If a Muslim wishes to marry a Hindu or Christian, then there should be an option for them - like a civil union.
We have a specific law in India which enables marriage between any two people - of any religion, to cater to this situation.

If a Hindu or Christian wishes to marry a Muslim, simply convert.
How is this oppressing?
Oppression is not letting them marry. But they can marry, simply convert.

This is not what I want to hear. Many Muslims convert to other religion. Many have converted to Baha'i, Ahmadi, Hinduism etc.
Part of your faith. I'll quote people with a stronger grasp on this topic.

I apologise for my mistake.
I mistook you for a decent human being. Someone who undertands that two humans can love each other while being comfortable in their respective(and different) religions.

This is why we have a law in India and in most other civilized countries where any two humans of any religion can get married by law.

Not a good idea nor it must be encouraged, these hindus basically r burden on our economy and society and must be encouraged to move to india which is their real land.

Pakistan is for Muslims build by the Muslims and nobody would be allowed to change our lifestyle.

How different marriage act for Hindus like Christians and Sikhs already have will change your life style? And you have to bring something to prove that non-Muslims are burden to economy.

Thank you Islamic Republic of Pakistan! It only took 69 years. What did Hindus do in the interim?

Same thing which Sikhs were/are doing in India.

Nothing much. In India there is a clear cut Marriage Act under which anybody can register their marriage - regardless of religion.

Pakistan does not have this.

Pakistani Hindus were till now running from pillar to post to get their marriages registered. Hopefully the Pakistani Parliament will not allow Islamic parties to stop this law from getting passed.

Islam permits a Muslim to marry another believer only. A Muslim woman, in particular, is permitted to marry a Muslim man only.

Pakistan is officially an Islamic state, so Pakistani government is unlikely to endorse your view (or Indian view) about this matter.

It is not mandatory for an officially Islamic state to recognize marriage between a Muslim and a non-believer.
