Not a chance.

You would struggle to get more than $500 000 for a 747 classic. Not sure how you would get a few million for a 707.

watch the first 30 seconds, they already made over $6 million, and the entire fuselage is still standing.

As the PAF 707 was of 60s vintage and in a state of disrepair, even with its engine you would struggle over $100 000.

Those old Pratt and Whitneys would need more than a boroscope inspection. (But first, you'd have to remove the bird nests )

And before someone chimes in and says PIA could do it, you would be right. However, it would probably take them a few billion rupees and thousands of man hours. (PIA currently has some Rolls Royce dart engines rusting away at the back of their Isphani hanger in Karachi).

On the current market, you can get an airworthy MD-80 with lower hour/cycle and more efficient PW engines for less than a million US$.

An audit report by the Ministry of Defence has revealed that a VVIP Boeing 707 of the Pakistan Air Force was sold for just Rs8.4 million.



The sale which took place in 2008 was not in consultation with the Finance Division. The plane was sold to a private individual without an auction. Documents provided by Pakistan Air Force stated that the Boeing 707 was in good condition. Neither the book value nor the purchase price of the plane was provided for the audit.



According to Air Force officials, the case was reviewed in the Air Headquarters before the aircraft deal and it was suggested to the Lahore Air Force base that the aircraft should be auctioned.



The audit calls for the Ministry of Defence to probe the sale of the plane and hold those responsible accountable.
