Pakistan Air Force - The Best Kill Record in the World in defence

.
The best kill record goes to the Israeli AF..
82-2 in the Beka valley engagement.
I suggest you look up all the kills of PAF.. including the fact that there was a fratricide in the afghan war by the PAF. It is a good record.. but not the best.
And this thread has all the potential to turn into a bandwidth wasting flamewar.
Similar threads have come and gone.. all have eventually ended up locked.

The Israeli's may have the best kill ratio but

Pakistani Pilots are the only ones in the world who have a superior kill ratio against the Israelis

PAF has justifiable reasons to claim that it is the pride of the nation

Verification, please. Israeli AF is notorious for NOT releasing data. Please share your sources.

I believe the Beka valley figure is correct. At the end nobody knows, although western media embellishes and supports Israeli views

'Pakistani Pilots are the only ones in the world who have a superior kill ratio against the Israelis'

I believe a few pakistani pilots were listed as killed in training accidents while on secondment to arab countries, anything is possible.

Do we really need this flag waving?:undecided:

ACIG..and this book

and notoriety doesn't stop at the Israelis..
The Iranians did not acknowledge multiple losses of aircraft penetrating then Soviet airspace till later.
However.. all things considered. The Israeli's have previous track records that support such claims.
We do not, most of the kills in 65 were exaggerated.. compare that to 71.. where our kills are judged accurate by the Indians themselves.
The reason our pilots succeeded against the Israeli's was simple.. our training.. we had well trained pilots with the best of all schools of combat...and the fact that the Israeli's were used to not expecting a fight from the arabs due to their GCI bound soviet training..
The IAF had intelligence about or presence.. yet due to our negligible numbers.. did not deem it necessary to caution its pilots.
If you have been continuously hammering somebody without hampering failures.. you get complacent...you dont expect initiative.
Israeli and Pakistani pilots trained together in the 80's when both forces were preparing for their first F-16's..along with the arabs.
The Pakistani's hung out with the Israeli's more than with the Arabs.

.
When it comes to comparing lethality of Aircraft; Israel is definitely superior to Pakistan Air Force. But when it comes to comparing Air Combat training and skills; PAF is superior to IAF, which can be inferred through these neutral sources:

1967 Arab-Israel War:

During the six day Arab Israel war in 1967 RFAJ and PAF were flying under a joint command. Flt. Lt. Saiful Azam from PAF was the only pilot from Arab side to shot down 3 aircraft in 72 hrs and all 3 of different types. He was decorated by Jordan, Iraq, Syria and Pakistan. According to the Pakistani military, PAF pilots performed excellently and downed about 10 Israeli planes including Mirages, Mysteres, Vautours without losing a single pilot or single aircraft of their own.

1973 Yom-Kippur War:

16 PAF pilots volunteered to support Syria and Egypt during this war. On 26 April 1974, PAF pilot Flt. Lt. Sattar Alvi on deputation to No. 67 Squadron, Syrian Air Force (SAF) was flying a SAF MiG-21FL Fishbed in a two-ship formation with a fellow PAF pilot Sqn. Ldr. Arif Manzoor. They were vectored to a formation of 2 Israeli Air Force Mirage IIICJs and 2 F-4 Phantoms that had intruded into Syrian airspace. In an air-to-air combat that took place at 1532 hrs, Flt. Lt. Sattar Alvi shot down an Israeli Mirage IIICJ using his MiG-21's R(K)-13 Air-to-Air Missile, becoming the first Pakistani pilot to shot down an Israeli Mirage during an air combat and was honored by the Syrian government for this. The remaining Israeli fighters aborted the mission. Other aerial encounters involved Israeli F-4 Phantoms; Pakistan Air Force did not lose a single pilot or aircraft during this war.

:police: PAF second to none :pakistan:

^ Times have changed since those previous encounters between Israel and Pakistan.

Israel today has F-15's in addition to F-16's and will soon get F-35's in a few years time.

Times have changed my friend, times have changed!

Like I said that when it comes to lethality of aircraft Israel is superior but when it comes to air combat training and skills; PAF is superior. :police: :pakistan:

Too much of random generalization based on encounters that happened in 60's and 70's.

Why does anyone think Israel AF may not have improved on their pilot's training?

thats what we say when u guys talking about 1971 ;)

might be u will learn something after 26/11 (when ur ministers talk about so called "surgical strike") learn first why Indian govt/Airforce etc not go for any mis-adventure against pakistan at that time!

"Times have changed my friend.. times have changed!!!" :azn:

I dont know why you like mixing thread topics.

There is whole massive thread going on Surgical strikes and its implications, consequences etc.

And needless to say there are thousands of threads on Indo-Pak air wars.

So lets do justice to the OP and stick with Pak -Israel AF's.

sure and it might be possible that we might have increased our training and combat skills too. . . :flame:
