@Stealth Has Pakistan ever tried to acquire Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker for its F-16 inflight refueling ??? because F-16 is backbone of PAF and we have in flight refueling facility for Mirag and JF-17 but not for F-16's

We might need a refuler for our F-16s but Block 52s are having CFTs and over all F-16 has quite long endurance so we are still doing quite good without a refuler for F-16s. Nonetheless our main AAR incorporates Drogue and Probe so inducting a refuler only for F-16 wud be quite expensive.

They tried to acquire the older KC's. Then, they bought the Russian one's as their JFT and Mirages would combine become a force three times that of the F-16's. So it made sense to have refueling options for 70% of your aircrafts than just the F-16's.

Plus due to China / Russia focus, other aircraft you'd acquire, would also use the same refueling options as JFT does. So it made sense to get the Il-78 tankers. But the discussions were on the table for one or two older KC's.

I'd imagine if the PAF bought 18-36 more new or used F-16's ever, a couple of used KC's would also become a reality.

Islamabad—Defense authorities Thursday informed a joint sitting of the Senate Standing Committees on Defence and Foreign Affairs that Pakistan is fully aware of its defense requirements and looking into options to acquire sophisticated fighter jets for its forces.
Briefing the meeting, co-chaired by Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defence Mushahid Hussain Sayed and Chairperson Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Nuzhat Sadiq, Acting Secretary Defence Rear Admiral Mukhtar Khan said that Pakistan was making ‘maximum efforts’ to secure its areas all along the border.
In addition to other measures, he said, “72 FC Wings are being raised to stop illegal entries from all the crossing points.”
He said currently reinforcement was being carried out at five border crossing points – four at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border areas including Chaman, Torkham, Angura Ada and Ghulam Khan, and one Pakistan-India border at Wahga.

PAF Crew training on KC-135 back in 2010 or maybe before...

Once PAF was interested but other side was relectant... Currently new BLK 52 aggressor sq for counter Indian aggression and all those BLK52 loaded with CFT so no need of tanker.

Hardly 500 km to counter any aggressor on the border so technically KC135 chances are low. On the other side purpose of having IL 78 was quite obvious - JF17 + movement of large Cargo stuff here and there in which KC Tanker is lacking. The main reason of getting IL78 is taking advantage of movement + refueling.

I still believe that KC135 would be great punch in PAF.
