Pakistan Air Force prepares for arrival of final Block II JF-17 and JF-17B fighter aircraft

You said it all. @Oscar
Unfortunately the narrative itself is to blame as it kept talking of the B3 as some game changer. This was built up over the years as some major change(which electronically it is) in design and gross wt capacity.

Oddly, the PAF narrative almost reinforced it at times with vague statements given in different publications.

And how reliable is he?
If you look at his other posts he simply seems to be a fan boy with too much enthusiasm ... JF-17B having a better fuel consumption and higher thrust to weight ratio than the A model, being already equipped with an AESA???? He's a stupid fan boy, nothing more.:hitwall::crazy:

Actually this production numbers contradict every report I heard and they are ranging from "PAF don't need the JF-17B" to "PAF will introduce them only after Block 3" ... what's the source for this?

The B version is a beauty and any single seat fighter based off it will be a sight to behold. That said, following hint at the possibility of external changes:

1. Need to redesign the entire nose section to accommodate the new AESA radar. Source was a Chinese article by the designer.

2. News from dafengcao about designs for electro-mechanical subsystems being sent to the factory. If it was the same old design, why would these components be changed? Let us remember electro-mechanical systems include actuators for canopy, actuators for flight control surfaces such as rudder, aileron etc, and even a swash plate for a mechanically steered radar to increase the angle of sight for AESA radar. Also includes landing gear. Any of these would imply some external changes.

Finally, because of an increase in size, some thought must have been given to stealth, either through use of composites, or RAM coating, or change in geometry.

Pakistan should expand it. More space and more machines and equipment. We need to seriously go in to export of JF 17 III and II if some country need lower spec jets.
Double the capacity so, one assembly line take cares of Pakistani orders and the other for Export orders.
How about they expand everything when the orders are in? Don't put the cart before the horse.

Even if the orders are not in we can produce jets for our requirements in double quick.
That is not a bad thing, but a requirement for Pakistan. We need as many modern jets as we can. 200/300 Block III are need of the hours. We have to get rid of F7 as soon as possible and also most of the mirages. Only those which needed for bombing missions and cannot be replaced at the moment should be kept the rest of the old inventory should go ASAP.

Does india field ASEA in any of its platforms?
Till date 6 of it's Jaguars have been reported as upgraded to the DARIN III status with Israeli Elta el/m-2052 AESA radars. This was reported a while ago. Till then all is quiet on the matter.

Also the next iteration of Tejas i.e. Mk.1A will also sport an adapted version of the Elta el/m-2052 AESA called Uttam. The current iteration is Tejas Mk.1 which sports the Israeli Elta el/m-2032 radar and it is not an AESA.

If tejas is the main enemy then jf17 blk3 will create havoc
