Pak Suzuki may roll back its expansion plan

Such a big investment is leaving Pakistan and you guys are happy!
$460 million is not that big to loose sleep over it. And with a hefty market share, they will have to upgrade to maintain it. Otherwise importers and new entrants in the market eg Hyundai will eat up their share.

.
Suzuki sells less than 25k cars in Pakistan, so incentives do make sense.

$460 million is almost half a billion dollar...Maruti Suzuki is doing very good in India and Other cars unable to touch Maruti.

.
They are feeling the heat I suppose as more foreign players are entering the market. Not a monopoly anymore Suzuki.

Not denying it is but the trade off for this investment is just more crappy models in the market. In fact Pak Suzuki's cars would not be allowed to run on roads anywhere else in the world. Maruti Suzuki is doing very good in India because of continued innovation in models, giving costumers a wide range of models to choose from and much better quality of their cars.

instead of joining the bandwagon here,I will say Suzuki has low maintenance, simple and cheap cars that are helpful for a low class and middle low class person but they should make their prices very competitive.im talking about 2.0 lakh max for a Suzuki Mehran and 3 Lakh for a Suzuki Bolan

.
Suzuki has been criminal towards Pakistan.
But the last thing you want are Chinese cars.

1. Chinese cars are just, Y'know, BAD.
2. If you think Pakistani knock offs of Japanese cars are bad, wait till you see knock offs and refurbished models of Chinese cars.

Your local brands need to take top brands head on, maybe through JV with a foreign brand. Otherwise it'll just be bad cars of Japan and China milking your market forever.
chinese cars are no worse then the indian cars

also the chinese heavy duty turks and buses are used all over pakistan without any significant issues.

Suzuki's maintenance is low because their cars are sold bare bones. Mehran had old shock system (komaniya) until 2014. For such a technologically outdated car, paying Rs. 750,000 is a crime.

But their bare bones model still cost about Rs. 650,000. Add the insurance and tax an it will cost Rs. 50,000 more. if this car was for Rs. 300,000-400,000 then I wouldn't have had any poblem with it. But isn't is criminal to make lower middle class pay Rs. 700,000 for a second generation car?
