hay hay hun waji e na kana thalay !! :cheesy:

First of all for Russia this equation is not either India or Pakistan rather finding a middle way to bring Pakistan into while at the same time not annoying India.
Like i said both India and Russia will figure out a way to accommodate Pakistan if Russians consider Pakistan important for their future, for the reasons i mentioned above but it does not want to loose India as you mentioned 40% of the Russian defense export is to India. But Russia does not need India alone, India needs Russia equally if not more because major chunk of Indian military hardware is of Russian origin.

Also do keep in mind that since Indian economy is booming and Western defense market has opened up, Indians have started to look at other options MRCA is one such example, the trend is likely to continue in the future as well and Russians certainly will like to keep that in mind after all its pure business.

Mate, Sorry to extend this a little further, but i don't buy the argument that India is buying arms from other countries at the cost of incurring losses to Russia, I agree that in the past few years India has signed many deals with the European countries & the US, but if u look at all the deals signed with Russia in the past decade just in terms of $$$$ it should amount to more than all the deals India has signed with Russia in 5 decades before that:

$2.3 billion Viky deal, $ 3.7 billion deal for super sukhois, $900 million upgrade of MiG-29, $ 5.5 billion FGFA deal, $ 1 billion Akula deal, 6 Talwar class frigates with 3 follow on ordered, 230 sukhois purchased before, etc. are just some of the examples, with growing Indian economy, India has enough to satisfy each country be it US, UK, France or Russia. I mean every time Mr. Putin visit India or MMS visits Russia, India gives billions of dollars of arms deal to Russia.

As far as the argument goes of buying weapons from western countries are concerned, than i ask why should it not be?? I mean if money is not a constrain than why should India (or for that matter any other country) go for a Mig-35 when it can get a Rafale, why should it go for an IL-76, when it can get Airbus A330, etc. This is 21st century defence market (post cold war era), where every country is selling to every other country, no matter if u were in the soviet block or american block in the cold war days, so it has turned out to be a buyers market rather than a sellers one, U offer us the best weapons & we will give u the deal, it's as simple as that.

US fall in love with u and Russia is trying to engage with us .....be cool man:hitwall:

Forum has only first post as news item and rest of the thread is full of Smoke and Burn Marks.

Note:
sources indicate that during the visit of COAS Gen. Kayani, the Russian govt has offered Pakistan attack helicopters and fighter aircraft. Which in its self is a major break through
Ooops! So it's soon gonna be the Su30 MKI Vs Su30 MKP!! :woot:

Pak-Russia defence agreement

Pak-Russia defence agreement | The Nation

According to reports citing Pakistani military sources, Russia has agreed to a military accord with Pakistan, though of which nature it is not yet clear. Still it is a major success of the détente going on manifest through visits of COAS General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to Pakistan. The accords are not only defence related; agreements concerning Steels Mills, Railways, thermal power plants, import of electricity whereby Russia would be according help have been inked during FM Lavrov’s meetings with Pakistani officials.
It has been reported that the defence ministries of both the countries will be giving final shape to the agreements. Once the foundations of a strong partnership are laid, a fascinating era of joint cooperation would follow. There is a lot that can be achieved in the field of military cooperation; Russian arms technology is envied the world over and so is its economy that during the recent years is being restored to its former strength owing to visionary measures by successive governments. There is hence great promise in trade relations as well since Islamabad too is looking for more trade partners to kick-start its economy battered by years of fighting a war on terrorism and poor management. What is important at this moment is to keep the momentum going so as to turn the ongoing exchanges into an exemplary relationship. The stage set by General Kayani for defence ties will hopefully herald a new era of broad based Pak-Russia ties.

Kremlin dint come to you..actually u r looking for another big daddy :lol: to replace U.S and china have role to bring u on table..

Policy shift? ...lets see who goes bonkers....

Same russia will provide supplies to nato or U.S after 2014...just wait :) ...

+ IMHO, India will object to any high tech. weapon sale to Pakistan, it objected even when Russians were selling the RD-93 engines to Pakistan, also when US was giving more F-16s to PAF.

A quick reminder , mate ...

RD-93 powers JFT at the moment , the Indian protest failed then ... I remember Indians members starting "n" threads and jumping up and down on a slight rumor that the sale has been blocked ... And that was the time when Russia wasn't warming upto Islamabad ...

Ponder over the reasons though ...

Really ? Who declared " Pakistan " the important partner in South Asia ? Who offered to extend the production capacity of Steel mills and showed interests in several projects ? Who made several high level visits to Pakistan ? Who provided money for the CASA-1000 for importing electricity from Central Asia ? Who signed the defense agreement which is giving you a burn at the moment ? :azn: I hate it when little kids like you , talk of things they have little grasp of !

No country in the region is interested in seeing US in Afghanistan after 2014 , even ISAF wants that piece of hell abandoned ... Live in your fantasy world !

Mind your language ... Believe it or not , it goes both ways ...

* RD-93MA
* AL-31FN
* MI-17s
* Air defense.

Above areas are where Pakistan can do business in Russia for now, rest is just pet talk.

Why is HQ 9 not working out? besides Russia is working with China on a new Heavy Chopper- that might be offered to Pakistan bcos it cannot be offered to India.

Russian commercial jets may also be offered. Though Russia pushes for sales of S 300 to both India and Iran not sure if its on offer to Pakistan.

Take it easy. Let some credible source come through otherwise dont need to excite the Indians for no good reason.

If Russia allowed the sale of RD-93 engines to Pakistan then they will also allow other goodies.
