The narrative is falling apart. The center cannot hold.I'm quite enjoying the mental gymnastics, whataboutery and flimsy excuses.
I wouldn't have expected anything less.
Something I never understand is the motivation for ordinary people to defend corrupt elites. These elites don't give a flying fig for the ordinary people yet the same ordinary people continue to worship and defend them, not recognising that they are the ones who are ultimately being robbed. The narrative is falling apart. The center cannot hold.
I hope you get the reference.
In any case, in a nation like Pakistan, why would generals be any different from politicians, judges, bureaucrats? There is hardly any accountability. We've been scapegoating politicians, but forget that its only them who can be made actually accountable in a functioning democratic system. I now have a knee-jerk reaction to criticism of politicians, in opposite direction of what is often intended. I know what they are, but it is a sleight of hand to blame them only.
When pretty much everyone is corrupt, what do you do? You place your trust in the system & let it work. USA was a pretty corrupt place in 1880s. In a few decades it was decidedly less so.Something I never understand is the motivation for ordinary people to defend corrupt elites. These elites don't give a flying fig for the ordinary people yet the same ordinary people continue to worship and defend them, not recognising that they are the ones who are ultimately being robbed.
Until we learn to do the right thing, which is to put principle above loyalty and expediency, and condemn all corrupts and wrongdoers regardless of affiliation, things will not improve.
It's like the upteenth attempt by surkhas to tarnish Afghan jihad's memory and cool some butthurt of Soviet defeat.I am just loving it. Inki neendein haram hain aajkal.May boys deliver more missing persons to their maker soon.
I admire your passion.Even though Russians themselves have abandoned Communism and removed Marx, Lenin and Stalin from their history, you are still enthusiastically flogging a dead horse. You celebrate the destruction of a country which sent a human into space to live in a USSR space station and got an award for doing a hero act there. That country liberated people, including the females, during Communist governance. And what did those international so-called mujahideen do ? Destroy those achievements. Look at that country now. Are you happy with it ?
BTW, "surkha" here.

The above text describes for humanity an ideals that is quite relevant today as it was in 1848 when the Communist Manifesto was published. Do you not agree ? Please read my below proposals for a Communist political system and a Communist socio-economic system. The first one really derives from the Libyan Jamahiriya system which has been adapted to Venezuela :Communism is a philosophical, social, political and economic ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is the establishment of a communist society, namely a socioeconomic order structured upon the ideas of common ownership of the means of production and the absence of social classes, money and the state. Soviets were a power hungry juggernaut like any superpower. They plundered their client states and would not have stopped had they not been stopped by force. The Afghan problem today is not just because of Soviets leaving. It also includes the lost 90s and a little something called 20 year WOT and abrupt withdrawal.
Gen. Akhtar was one of the most respected Chief / Head, it is ironic that dawn reported on him but didnt utter a word on other politicos who have stashed billions but somehow 5 million has become a matter of grave concern

In any case, I am not going to go out on a limb here to defend anyone. I am rather enjoying the payback & wondering how come some people thought that generals would not be equally (if not more so) corrupt. It may be a case of "some people all of the time"?
We can do nothing about generals, since they are only accountable to themselves. But we can do something about politicians over time.
why dont you go and live in north korea? its a heaven for commiesFirstly I request for us not to use such violent imagery as "flogging a dead horse" or even worse "ways to skin a cat". Secondly, nowhere in Russia I am sure Lenin's statues have been brought down. That would be only in the eager-for-NATO formerly-USSR-or-allied East Europe, and possibly in some of Ukraine. The Communist Party of Russia is the second-largest party in Russia and I have know of its long-serving general secretary Gennady Zyuganov having participated in a public demonstration eleven years ago alongside Libyan exilees protesting against the NATO+GCC+Al Qaeda+Muslim Brotherhood invasion of Libya.
Thirdly, Marx and Communism are very relevant today especially when in Capitalist so-called democratic countries like USA, India and Pakistan where the governments spend lavishly on the military and not much resources on building a welfare system on the masses. The masses are miserable - from homelessness to suicides by the unemployed and the farmers to many other things. Below is Google result for "Communism" :

1. Well, I agree that being a military superpower isn't quite Communist - I myself am anti-military anti-war - but the USSR had to counter in defense the Capitalist imperialist invasions-oriented and subversions-oriented empire led by USA governments.
2. What do you mean by "plundered their client states" ?
3. Can you elaborate of War on Terror ?
how is it confirmed? do you have any records of transfers to said journalist? it raised many questions? by whom? This was widely suspected & now confirmed. His sons paid a journalist to write a book about their father Gen Akhtar Abdulrehman, but it raised many questions about how they got so much money when their father was not independently wealthy. So do not please chalk this up to Satan. Human weakness is the most likely culprit here.
