What's new

Pak may never try another Kargil, but it could get worse

Nehru is dead. Can't ask him.

You did not capture 10% of the Rann. The Rann is over 30,000 sq. kilometers. You made a demand for about 9000 sq kilometers out of which about 900 sq. kms was awarded to you by a tribunal.

Read the history ... The case was later settled at the International court in Hague but Pakistanis have achieved a victory in the skirmishes in Kutch ( the initial stage of '65 war ) and advanced to the place they claimed ... PA never handed those areas back ... And you are mistaking Greater and Less Rann of Kutch here ...

Typical indian inferiority complex on display here, the ones I feel sorry for was the young indian soldiers mowed down by our machine guns as they tried desperately to take back their positions, the lads that tried to take back point 5353 were massacred - we tried our best to give the wounded indian soldiers first aid, but a .50 caliber machine gun can do serious damage to a human body.

You should feel sorry for your brave soldiers that lost their lives but the state they fought for branded them as terrorists while the real ones roam freely in your streets or live lavishly in the mansions of abbottabad. That is a shame that no soldier should ever face anywhere. How sad...

We still have Rann of Kutch , Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan :azn: Let me know when you are coming to get them
Nehru had to run to UN to save his forces *** whilst the tribals and PA advanced beyond Skardu ...

Err - last I checked India had the Rann of Kutch. LOL - let me get this right. The Indian forces which pushed the tribals and PA back from within 20 kms of Srinagar to their current position needed saving? And the retreating forces did not?

Pakistan captured 10% of the claimed Rann of Kutch in '65 if you are unaware of history ... Read " the Initial skirmishes in the Rann "

Actually IA pushed the ill equipped at that time tribals back from Srinagar ... They couldn't proceed further whilst we advanced beyond Skardu ... Ask Nehru ... Who runs to the UN to arrange ceasefire and for what reason ? :azn:

The truth lies elsewhere, not within Secur's comments. In the northern sector, the forces consisted of the Tribals, stiffened by the Gilgit Scouts and by state forces from Chitral. The Mehtar of Chitral had acceded to Pakistan.

Fighting broke out in early October 1947. It was delayed since the Pakistani civilian appointed to mobilize tribal 'volunteers' decided to get married. The Gilgit Scouts moved against Skardu in late February 1948, and were unable to capture the town. They, therefore, proceeded to maintain the siege, and went past Skardu to capture Kargil and besiege Leh. In August, the Chitral State forces joined the siege of Skardu and their artillery fire overwhelmed the defending State forces.

By October/November 1948, the tide had turned. The Indian 77 Para Brigade forced the Zoji La pass, using tanks, and advanced towards Kargil, still under the control of the Gilgit Scouts. Meanwhile, Indian troops had reinforced the besieged garrison at Leh, and broke out towards Kargil. The 77 Para Brigade and this column linked up in late November. Kargil was relieved. The Gilgit Scouts retreated towards Skardu.

It was at this stage that Nehru made his quixotic and untimely reference to the UN. So much for the bragging assertion that the reference was made when Pakistani forces advanced beyond Skardu. It was actually made when these forces had been driven back to Skardu.

Just to keep the record clear, this was at a stage when in the southern sector, Indian troops had re-captured Baramula, Uri, Chhamb, Jhanger, Rajauri, Tithwal, Keran, Gurais and finally lifted the siege of Poonch. It will be clear from this who was moving in which direction at the time of the UN reference.

If there is any question regarding Nehru's reference to the UN, it can be clarified that the reference was under the section seeking sanctions against aggression, but was taken up under a non-binding clause and section of the charter which sought to restore peace. It was hardly, as the time record will show, due to Indian troops needing help. It was at a stage when Kargil had been regained, and Poonch and Chhamb. If anything, the UN reference came as a huge relief to Pakistan.

I'd be careful making snide remarks. It could be an avalanche that affects your soldiers next time. ;)

Hum toh upar baite hain janaab, landslide toh neeche hoti hain.

yeh baat tum bahut baar repeat kat chuke ho,kuch naya baat karein bhai,

tujh se badiya jaahil aadmi maine zindagi par nahi dekha.

these guys wont listen to you JS,they are kids who need ego boost because they fail in their personal life.

Dont waste ur time.

Mate, read all the posts before you comment because we have clearly stated in regards to Kargil that it was a military victory for Pakistan that turned to a diplomatic loss eventually. India achieved almost all her objectives but then again, Indian diplomatic support has been phenomenal for decades.

Im in agreement with you here :)

No, this is incorrect. The entire dispute was settled by the tribunal - and the area of the Rann of Kutch not the Greater or Lesser Rann is over30,000 sq kms - out of your claim of 9000 - you got 900. 900 out of over 30,000 is less than 3%. I am glad you think of controlling 3% of some salty marsh which was awarded to you by a tribunal as an achievement.

Here's a good reply to indians who keep posting the same, refuted videos over and over again:

my dear

please forgive me for thinking that you had a sound mind.
you chose to quote a disgraced general who was kicked out along with Nawaz Sherif after nawaz decided to become Amir Al monineen.
this General is on Raiwand payroll and will speak the same language about Musharraf as Khaja Asif or nawaz Sherif's extented political family.
and Musharraf is their favourite target along with Imran Khan.

this guy has personal grudge against Musharraf because he his appointment as COAS was dismissed by the army.. this same joker gave an interview blaming Musharraf for hiding Osama although he was already out of the army back in 1999.

there is a limit to being a prat... please show some respect for yourself and quote someone better than those people who have personal scores to settle and talk out of their behinds

Here's the video that indians seemed to keep clinging on to:

In reply, a humble Indian might say, it is amazing how many eminent Pakistanis talk through their behinds - according to other Pakistanis.

Its also amazing how the words of these eminent Pakistanis are like God's words to some Indians but when eminent Indians like Arundhati Roy speak, she is talking through her behind- according to some Indians

1800 Bharti soldiers spilled their blood on the mountain side, yet the Indians have no shame in getting humiliated in these type of threads, time and time again.

Which Indian politician claimed this figure 1800.
