Pak businessman pleads guilty for illegally exporting nuclear material

At the very outset it is not a short term benefit at all. Further, ooh he is a crimina? He should have bought nukes and related equipment by paying handsome amounts to US and accepted all black and white terms and conditions, then it would have been justified right?

Which country has bought and developed nukes from official market? Brother US want every country to buy nuke related equipment from it as per their terms and conditions. Just consider the latest nuke deal between india and US, is that acceptable to you on the terms specified by US?

If you are living in a country as a resident, and do not obey the law, you are a criminal, if the same is proven in a court of law.. In that sense, if this accusation (to which this chap seems to have confessed) is proven, he is a criminal, plain and simple.. You cant argue a supposed unfairness of law to justify breaking it. As I said before, there may be similar justifications that TTP and other terrorist entities in Pakistan may give for blowing up Pakistani citizens and military forces... would you accept them??

.
I think the guy probably knew someone in Pakistan(friend/relative) who worked in research and asked him for a favour. He must of thought it was harmless and had no idea about the laws or implications. After living in America for sometime, I don't think I've ever met a Pakistani that is a terrorist or even shares those kinds of views.

.
well atleast he was doing some thing for his country- while others just talk bla bla bla from their combuters.

.
This is definitely disturbing news. These consignments were obviously meant for terrorists and it goes to show that the mofos are trying to get their hand on nuclear technologies & equipments.

ya habibi hembo-

plz first read your posted article yourself before posting it blindly just for the sake of a Pakistani involvement in it- the nuclear-related materials were destined for Pakistan-

46-year-old Nadeem Akhtar’s conviction before a U.S. court on Friday is the product of a “vigorous, cooperative joint-agency investigation focused on denying and disrupting the illegal export of controlled nuclear technology destined for Pakistan,” Eric L Hirschhorn, Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security, said.

So what. He will be imprisoned for 5 Years and will pay the fine. But he must be proud of these, as he has done something positive for his country.

He has violated a law, but have not committed a crime, hence he is not a criminal. Get a life.
