The point is not keeping beard..they are allowed to keep one provided they trim it. But this officer does not want to trim it and keep it unkempt which he says is his religious belief. So in an Islamic republic, he should be allowed to practise his Islamic beliefs.

He has gone to court alleging that he is being forced to go against his religious belief.

The court has sen notices to the Army asking about it.
