PAF urgent need of SAM

as situation is going worse day by day on LOC and we all know after modi will fail to fulfill his promises to Indian he will sure divert attention of his public . he is even doing even now . there are huge chance of minor or major conflict between tow nations . we all know our air force is not in good shape as it was in past wars . its now modern era and if i am not wrong we hardly have 150 modern fighter jets

other all is not worth to put in war even lets be realistic here . our army is in good shape and they need just air cover . AA already rushing to get choppers. but situation is bad for air defence of Pakistan
the longest missile we have is some 30 years old HQ-2 with range of 45km others all we have can protect cities and vital points but not cover whole border.

we have spada-2000 with range of 60km and other old SAMs which i don't think will work good against high speed moving targets .new chines system HQ-7 is nothing but short range same with range of 15km . crotale is very old 15km range and others are MANPADs and AA guns which work on mercy of luck.

don't you think we have nothing in air defense which scare enemy fighters to fly over pakistan ? world is moving on 400KM range sams which pissed off pilots to fly over countries and we hardly have some 50km range missiles in hands . HQ-18 reported to be under evaluation in November 2010 by pakistan but then no any news .its 100km range S-300V built by china . it is minimum we should have to protect us or else GOD BLESS US .

please no wet dreams posts don't you guys think its high time to urgent order of long range SAMs from china ????? or we have to wait till we went deep in mess???

Agreed, if we have not already bought HQ-9 which We have never exposed on any level so far, though. But i doubt it. And hence, yes we are in dire need of a long range SAM apart from just relying on our airforce.

on one side we lack quality which before we have and other side we lack quantity of fighter jets . we have survive in past wars because of quality western tech but at this time we did not have that . so how we will protect our self from hundreds of MKIs mig-29s mirage2000s ?its time to think for us SAMs are not only low cost but also effective against any airforce . with 50km range of SAMs what our AWACS and modern ground radars TPS-77 do ? they will inform us to hide underground only ?

The airforce in itself, in the defensive mode, is still, good enough. What they lack is the punch when it comes to taking the destruction beyond indian frontiers.

Completely agreed. Most plans of india and others probably be centered around first preemptive strike to reduce your fighters and nuclear capability thinking you lack sufficient aircover while your airfoce is on ground. If HQ 9 is obtained but kept secret still this provokes an attack showing an opening.

If you obtain HQ 9 or some other sam in S 300 class then india would need to divide its sukhoi fleet by two half of them in charge of sead.There are measures against harms like decoys as well as shoot and scoot tactic with mobile platforms that increase survivability. HQ 16 although low altitude protecting your strategic sites would also work to take out harms.

If 100 operable MKI then you would face much less in air to air. That is a great deterrant factor in itself. Only nuclear sites and major airbases would be enough for initial batch. that should not be too expensive even vietnam operates S300.

I think you forgot LY-80E SAMs from China which Pakistan have purchased.

PAF is not in bad situation but they should get long range SAMs like HQ-9 (which might already been purchased and deployed) must be purchased.

I dont see india sending aircraft across the border. India will lose more money in stock exchange than damages from any pakistan retaliation. Afghanistan can do that job for India(you are thinking about strategic ditch...err i mean depth).

But any way we welcome some serious competition , lets see who fills up western pockets more.

i don't belive in secrets sir . the things we have we should know it. if we go to this logic we have stealth planes also .
