PAF receives first batch of F-16 Block-52 Aircraft

PAF to enhance potency by inducting latest version of F-16s

ISLAMABAD, June 25 (APP): Adding potency to PAF’s fleet, three most modern F-16 aircraft would be inducted at the newly upgraded base under the Southern Air Command of the country on Sunday.Delivery of Block-52 type of F-16 aircraft, especially designed to ably meet with the country’s present and future needs is a part of goodwill gesture by the United States.Pakistan is the second country after Israel to get these state of the art aircraft from the US.

Total 18 aircraft, equipped with Modern Electronic Warfare gadgets like Sniper Pods, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Threat Warning System (TWS), Beyond Visual Range missiles, and Night Precision Guided missile have to be supplied to Pakistan by the end of the current year and three of them would be reaching as part of the first batch at the newly upgraded airbase Shahabaz (Jackobabad) of the PAF.
The Base, prior to this was being used as Forward Operating Base (FOB) by the PAF but very recently it has been upgraded to home F-16 Block 52 aircraft by installing state of the art gadgetry, equipment and radar system.
The aircraft including two D class and one C class would directly fly from the USA (Tuscon) and after making almost 8 hours flight would land at the Shahbaz base on Saturday.
“The induction of the F 16 Block 52 into PAF’s arsenal would go a long way in enhancing the potency of the PAF and would offset the technological superiority of the adversary in the domain of air power,” a spokesman of PAF told mediapersons while briefing about the induction of the aircraft.
The effects of inclusion of this aircraft and the associated weapons in PAF’s inventory would be further boosted by the addition of the Mid Life Update (MLU) modified F16s in early 2012.
PAF’s F16 fleet along with the locally developed JF 17 and the recently acquired Airborne Early Warning fleet would pose a formidable challenge to the enemy’s offensive designs.
He said that the aircraft can simultaneously carry a variety of arms and ammunition with the capability to engage the adversary in different types of attack and combat environment.
About the technical training for the repair and upgradation of F-16, he said a total of 113 PAF personnel including 32 Officers and 81 technicians have already completed their training at USA and are waiting to manage and operate these aircraft in Pakistan.
In addition to that, he said 8 pilots of PAF have been imparted operational training of the aircraft in USA and they will transfer the skill to other pilots in the country by performing as master trainers.
Meanwhile, he said that a Technical Support Team of the US comprising, technicians, engineers and experts from Lockheed Martin (the manufacturer of the aircraft), besides other officials of the US Air Force.
For the existing fleet of 40 F-16 aircraft MLU programme would also start in the current year.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) will receive the first batch of 18 new F-16 fighter Falcon fighter jets from the United States on Saturday (today).

Three F-16s are scheduled to arrive at the Shahbaz air base in Jacobabad on Saturday, with 15 more to be delivered later this year, said Maj Todd Robbins of the US Air Force. According to the American Embassy, the US Air Force is set to deliver the first batch of these F-16s to the PAF as a sign of deepening relations between the United States and Pakistan.

“This is the most visible part of a strong and growing relationship between the two air forces that will benefit both short-term and long-term,” Robbins said. The sale of F-16s to Pakistan renews the new aircraft sales deal that existed between the US and Pakistan in the 1980s, but was halted in the 1990s.

Pakistan is paying $1.4 billion for the 18 new aircraft, in addition to $1.3 billion in upgrades to its existing F-16 fleet, the delivery of which would begin in 2012, Robbins said. The US Air Force also is training PAF pilots. The first eight pilots have recently completed training with the Arizona National Guard in Tucson, Robbins said. The US Air Force is also training Pakistanis in night-attack training and recently completed training to four instructors and five flight leads.

U.S. Congress official approval by the manufacturer , Lockheed Martinat the U.S. Air Force ordered 12 single-seat F-16C and below the dual-seat F-16D type to total of 18 Block 52 series F-16 aircraft from the first three of Pakistan'puts a wheel tomorrow.

Soon to be delivered and the remaining 15 aircraft tail numbers and type proposed as follows:

Pakistan's new series of Block 52 F-16's Pratt & Whitney jet, the main power source-type model of the F-100-PW-229 turbofan engine.

The aircraft's main sensor, the Northrop Grumman production AN/APG-68 (V) 9 radar, AN/APG-68 series of the radar the previous model, according to one-third more detection, identification and tracking range coast and the radar search / scan mode, detection and identification resolution has been reduced up to 60 cm. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Air Force has received first batch of 18 new F-16 fighting falcon jet fighters from United States on Saturday.

Three F-16s arrived at Shahbaz Airbase in Jacobabad on Saturday morning.

The sale of F-16s to Pakistan renews new aircraft sales that existed between the United States and Pakistan in the 1980s, but were halted in the 1990s. The F-16 is a multi role jet fighter sold to 24 countries around the world.

The US Air Force also is training Pakistan Air Force pilots. The first eight recently completed training with the Arizona National Guard in Tucson.

The Air Force also training Pakistanis in night-attack training and recently completed training to four instructors and five flight leads.

PAF F-16 Block-52 fighter jets landed in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The United States delivered the first batch of Block-52 F-16 Fighting Falcon jets to Pakistan on Saturday.

The first batch of three jets customised to the needs of the Pakistan Air Force, have landed in Pakistan.

During a meeting at the Parliament House, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman informed Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani about the aircraft delivery.

He said the current fleet of F-16 aircraft is being used in the fight against militancy in the country’s tribal areas.

Pakistan is paying $1.4 billion for the jets and an additional $1.3 billion for the up gradation of its existing fleet.

The jets are due to be delivered at the Shahbaz Air Base in Jacobabad today in presence of the United States Air Force Chief who has arrived in Islamabad.

hi guys sorry to ruin the fun but i really want to swear at americans and on ourselves as well. americans sent 3 planes and these f***ing americans held back the original plan 2 planes are bl-52-D and one is the old one F-16 B upgraded all of em are bugged so hopefully we f***ing americans slaves use these spies carefully....................ahhhhhhhhhhhh....forgive my language but just heart broken................what a shame
