PAF Officer had committed suicide, PAF tells Islamabad High Court

He was immediately shifted to PAF Hospital where he was declared as ‘brought dead’. Later, his body was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for autopsy.”

The reply claimed that Pims confirmed that the officer had committed a suicide

This is the crux of the matter. The court can ask The AF authority to provide the report. If the report is verified it should be an easy matter to explain. If there is doubt the Court would then question the person who filed the report. It is easy from the Jurisprudence point of view whether the person died of hanging as there is injury/fracture of specific part of the neck Vertebrae. It should also be possible to deduce whether the hanging occured before or after death. In either case the truth will come out. What might be a little bit more trickier to ascertain is whether the person hanged himself or was hanged. This is where the doubts will be raised.

Looks suicide to me as well.I know other such shameful corrupt officer who died from heart attack because of all the stress and tension he was taking. The case was going on against him.His name was group captain rab nawaz baluch .His whole family is still living in the retired air force officers colony where everyone knows about them and they are not welcomed and respected.Such shameful people my lord.
Please dont name specific people. Legally and morally it is not correct. Fine that you know him and fine that he faces the final court with a much harsher punishment. Let us leave the matter behind.

@MastanKhan , wanna bet this was a face saving hunt where only the small fry hung himself...
If the big fish is involved the matter would not have come out in the press at all. If the man has been done in how easy is it to give the woman a million or two to shut her mouth or even do her in. You know that big money involves big risks so why let the cat out of the bag at all. Where one murder has been(allegedly committed another could also have been done).
My 2 Paisas worth.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has conveyed to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that the mysterious death of Group Captain Rizwan Attique was suicide.

In response to a petition filed by Attique’s widow, Tanzeela Khan, PAF’s director legal service Sohail Ahmed stated that the woman’s husband had committed suicide as he feared the consequences of an inquiry into his alleged corruption.

Giving a detailed background of the events before the death of the officer, the written reply stated: “During his service, the petitioner’s husband became involved in embezzlement, misappropriation, malpractices and collusion with various civilian contractors against service interest. Consequently, a Board of Inquiry was ordered at the Air Headquarters, Islamabad, on July 5, 2017 to probe into his alleged illegal activities.

Written reply alleges that widow’s petition is aimed at maligning the force

“The deceased officer was provided VIP room at Officers Mess, Islamabad, to face the Board of Inquiry proceedings; the deceased officer was not taken into Air Force custody. However, he was asked to remain present on the premises of Officers Mess, Islamabad, during the Board of Inquiry proceedings.”

The reply further states: “The deceased officer committed suicide as a remorse for his involvement in misappropriation and as a fear for loss of image in society, which he had built for last many years.”

It said: “Group Captain Rizwan committed suicide. On July 10, 2017 he was found hanging from a window grille using bedsheet in his room at the Officers Mess, Islamabad.

“He was immediately shifted to PAF Hospital where he was declared as ‘brought dead’. Later, his body was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for autopsy.”

The reply claimed that Pims confirmed that the officer had committed a suicide. The reply alleged that the petitioner filed the petition only to malign the PAF.

Ms Khan was seeking transparent and impartial inquiry into the death of her husband.

The petition also attached the copy of a medical report of Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory, Lahore, according to which the officer had eight injury marks on his body.

All injuries were sufficient to cause death in ordinary course of life.

The petition cited secretary defence, chief of air staff, deputy chief of air staff and Air Intelligence director general as respondents.

The petitioner requested the IHC to form a joint investigation team (JIT) to investigate how her husband, Group Captain Rizwan Attique, died in August last year.

As per media reports, the group captain was found hanging from a window grille of a room under mysterious circumstances.

The reports had expressed a possibility that the officer might have committed suicide.

However, the petition on the other hand alleged that her husband died under the custody of an intelligence agency.

She requested the IHC to issue direction for registration of an FIR and constitute a JIT, comprising officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Islamabad police and Intelligence Bureau (IB), to ascertain the causes and circumstances that led to his death.

The petitioner further requested the court to direct the deputy chief of air staff to provide personal belongings of the deceased officer to his legal heirs including personal files, cheque books and other documents.

IHC Justice Aamir Farooq asked the police why they did not register FIR in this matter even when it has been reported.

The court then summoned the police officer concerned on April 11.

Innallaha wa innailyhi rajioon. I know the reality behind many of such "suicides". Now after his death, many pending cases and running inquiries will end on this guys dead body. But in the end, Allah is the best judge.

The point is if there is something to be brought out it should be brought out with proof. if there is no proof slandering the reputation of a man without proof is punishable in Islam and disliked by Allah. So either you have a story with proof or one should keep his mouth shut(No disrespect to you personally) .
I will relate to you the incidence in Islam as it is what I follow.
Umar RA came to Ali RA and said I have seen such and such man entering into the house of such and such woman, and I suspect they were upto no good. Ali RA asked can you bring the four witnesses who have seen what you have seen and who can testify to the wrong doing. Umar RA replied, "No it was night and I was all alone"! Ali RA then said to Umar RA" then talk to no one about it as it would be a slander and I would have to punish you with 40 lashes". Remember Ali RA was a Judge in the times of Umar and Uthman RA. We need to let this rumour mill come to a stop and only open our mouths if we have proof.

Better to check your own house instead of poking nose on others matters. RS270 crore worth satellite suffers cardiac arrest and there is no chance to revive it again.

After ‘cardiac arrest’, Rs 270 crore Gsat-6A cruising on silently

“It was like a cardiac arrest,” one Isro insider said about the sudden blackout of the Rs 270-crore satellite.
  • The Gsat-6A was to help the armed forces communicate from remote border areas and the mountains.

That's what am saying. His alleged suicide is just going to save the others who were involved along.

Sorry no mercy for the corrupt they should be exposed as much as possible.I demand death penalty for corruption, this menace of corruption is holding our country backward for decades .They should be made example in society so others learn from it.Though i agree no one should be given a bad name until proven guilty. The officer i named was proven guilty ,the total amount of corruption was close to 30 crores. The huge amount of cash was recovered from his home as well. Our military men laid their lives to protect this country and if one of them is that much shameless to damage the country and his institution for his personal gain, sorry not a shred of respect for such person.

Agree to disagree. Such circumstances happen very rare in forces where they had to kill one to save others.Though in civil such incidents are a norm.

The big question was whether they were involved or just slandered upon by association. I hope the latter is the case.

You have quoted a part of a post totally out of context and based your judgement on that. So before you tell me how hard my heart has grown read my whole posts in this thread and get the context right.
For your information any one who has been corrupt and then committed suicide has earned double punishment from Allah. This is what my deen tells me and this is what I believe. All of us will face him and answer for our actions.

Are you a witness to his alleged suicide and corruption? Or did you personally investigate any sort of Paf records, leading you to believe, he committed the suicide or embezzlement of any kind ? Vo mr gea hai Jan chorr do us ki.

I would go to the extent of calling him a true ghayratmand son of the soil without condoning his act/s. Who paid the price for his alleged misconduct with his own life... end of thr story .

Moreover keeping in view the amount of online traffic which this forum attracts @mods plz close this thread and also take his pic down as he got a family like we do.
