So we have 14 verified J-10Cs now in service. What is the 2nd squadron that will be taking delivery of the others or will all be going to Haiders for now to act as OCU? I was thinking the split might be 12 aircraft per sqn.

I think this jet, in this colour scheme, is comparable to the beauty of F-16 in PAF colours.

There are some info that make sense that PAF is moving form 18 jet per sqr to 15 jet but no such 12 jet per sqr shared

PAF has older jets so made sense to have more per squadron. Newer jets should have better availability.
If we have ordered 20 J-10s as the leaks suggest then it will be one operational sqn and a few jets with ccs/ace.

More jets in a squadrons has also to do with the serviceability rate of a squadron due to reduced MTBO (Mean Time Between Overhaul) of engines leading to requirement of overhauling....

To an air force, the number of squadrons is not the relevant consideration as much as the total aircraft available. A squadron of 16, if no additional aircraft are available for maintenance and attrition, is a different proposition from a squadron of 16 backed up by 8 to 10 additional aircraft.

Pakistan had, at times, had as many as 24 F-6s per squadron. But the aircraft had to undergo major overhauls after 600 hours of flying, and its engine had a Time Between Overhaul of 100 hours. Sometimes, PAF had less than 12 ready aircraft per squadron despite the availability of twice as many.

Serials 22-119 and 23-107 have already been spotted, which suggests 26 maybe and at least 19? Unless they are not delivering them in order, which would be confusing.

This was discussed before and I think the conclusion reached was that they are not delivered in order and total confirmed so far is 19. It was suggested that the serials are not in order beause they may be following factory numbers, which is plausible (even if confusing). Still, I think the serials will keep going from 101 to 199 regardless of the year part. And obviously we are not likely to ever reach 199. At least, I certainly hope not.
