PAF proved itself on the 27th of Feb. But more courage is required from the leadership. Courage to make difficult and daring calls. Had we taken out the other 8 Indian aircraft...the Indians would not have raised their heads for a generation.

Albeit, it's relatively quite on LOC these days but have you noticed that most of the time, both armies openly fire at each other with small and heavy guns, artillery and even ATMs. They send spy drones into each others territory but never use combat aircraft. Even during Kargil conflict, the Indians used the Airforce to attack targets within it's own side of LOC. Once the aircraft cross the border, it's considered an act of war. Remember Hassan Sadiqui got reprimanded for his actions thus Modi making all the noise that Pakistan has committed an act of war. The two kills were enough to put the Indians in their place, they had no other answer but to threaten with launching missiles.

The threat of launching missiles was quickly taken back when Pakistan threatened to launch 3 missiles for every one missiles they fire.

Exactly but the fact is Indians had no other option after they realised their Airforce can't deliver.
Can you imagine the panic and confusion amongst IAF ranks, their pilots petering out of combat and their ground defences unable to distinguish between a slow moving Chopper and a supersonic jet so deep within their own airspace. The so called Raptor of East was turned into Rabbit of Asia that day. Now even acknowledged by Lockheed Martin and other American sources.

The response would have been a lot of noise. Had we taken out the airfields as well then thay can do what they like.

Downing 8 jets without downing a similar number of Pakistani jets will agitate the indian government. There will be pressure to hit back. India will probably retaliate against military targets. It's a mistake for you to underestimate the possibility of a punitive response

The PAF downed 2 of your jets, and swamped your entire AD network and there was nothing you did except screech on social media and the news.

I think EW made a significant difference on 02-26 & 02-27. Indian GPS-guided SPICE bombs, radars, AD, EW suits, comms etc. miserably failed leaving IAF useless. It means all the investments by the IAF till that day became like " Cow-dung IN, cow-dung OUT".....
