Fwd bases are not activated on intelligence regarding a potential terrorist attack though. I also believe that its a normal operational readiness exercise.

whats new in it? Both countries have capability to track every flight from 50kms from their borders. Forward bases will always be on alert and monitoring for any intrusion. When even a drone which accidentally flies over is brought down, this unwarranted media hype looks more to satisfy local audience than any thing else.

All PAF forward bases operational: Air chief

All forward operating bases of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) have been made operational in response to Indian ‘threats’.

This was stated on Wednesday after Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman visited the forward bases at Siachen where war exercises by fighter jet squardons were held.

The air chief also took part in the exercises, flying a PAF Mirage jet himself.
