Both the F-16 and JF-17 instead focus on having a much wider if not that impressive sweet spot. The simple delta can try to shoot off a single impressive HOBS shot, but there is always a chance that the initial shot does not connect; and that is where a well flown JF-17 or F-16 will kill you.

Try explaining that to a non-F16 driver :p:

Well that is because pilots focus on getting the best out of their machines. A m2k pilot will swear by the air combat capabilities of his jet because he has been trained to exploit the sweet spot of his aircraft.

The thing is, contary to the fanboyish numbers thrown out here.. aircraft are not pulling consistent 9gs or 26 deg a second. A 9g turn on most jets will drop airspeed like anything.

So unless its a desperate defensive maneuver or a one off shot for offensive, no pilot is going to bleed energy out.
Most of the time the maneuvering is kept within 6-7g and involves more of energy trade offs in altitude and airspeed rather than tight turns.

And it is within those ranges that these Ps curves matter. Spikes of extreme performance are not that important as compared to consistent good performance overall.

Something is always given away in the thunder turn.. in case anyone noticed @Dazzler @Horus @Manticore @JamD @Bilal Khan 777 @ghazi768 I am sure I may never see them, but I would love to see its Ps curves.
I'm sure the folks on the other side of the border will have resources allocated for generating estimates of these too. Maybe in 20 years we'll see them for the JF17.

In any case, we can make the broad observations just from basic layout of the aircraft. Ps charts would let you devise specific tactics against particular aircraft. @Bilal Khan 777 can probably shed more light on the specifics of this (or give an example or two from his days) if he feels it to be appropriate.

Tactics of our day, other than at the strategic level, are all obsolete.

High Alpha is like there is no tomorrow..
