and that Khawaha Asif once said in media that Pakistan will purchase modern fighter jets from Russia.

That possibilities r highly unlikely, not very long ago had russia offered india SU35 once again and also upgrades to incorporate in their SU30.
Though we have been reading these rumours and wish list for many months now realistically I m not very hopeful due to India Russia relations and influence

it will be better to go for Mig-29s later used models upgraded to Mig-35 standard with Su-35s, JFT and Migs can share many things in terms of avionics and engine making maintenance easier

Both UAE & Qatar M2K will be worth a shot........
Delta Should be replaced with Delta.
Indian Air Force plan to use their M2K by end of 2040 and they are going to stay in IAF for 24 more Years!
If we really are looking forward towards M2K then this aircraft can serve as Strategic Asset coupled with Ra'ad .......

90 F16 + 80 M2K + 200 Jf17 + 40 Su35 = 400 Top Notch aircrafts (Got rid of all Mirages & F7)

India paid 40million a piece to keep those M2Ks till 2040 can Pakistan afford it? No, also those M2Ks are now inferior to Indian ones.

Only Chinese has some, but there J11 is still facing engine issue. Plus, lots of East European countries thought about to get rid of Mig29, but seems they are not in position to afford Western tech. Some Ex Russian block countries are fixing there old Mig21 fleet.

If Su-35s are expensive then Pakistan can go for Su-30SM/M2 which Russian air force uses and they should be cheaper then Su-35s. Russia will not have issue in selling those although they are willing to sell Su-35s too.

India don't have strategic influence on Russia now, its very complicated game and if Pakistan play its cards well then they can even get Su-35s. Pakistan should look into Lada subs and SAMS like S-350E also, a package deal will be more attractive for both Russia and Pakistan.

When ever Pakistan negotiate SU35, from nowhere US will offer F16 lucrative deal......for some reason. Just like they offer Viper deal.

Russia would never sell any SU35 to Pakistan due to obvious Indian involvement. There are more chances of F16 getting AESA upgrade than Pakistan getting SU35 from Russia.
