true the way our AM are hinting it has high probability, but TAI is famous for many different things we need to upgrade the avionics of JF-17 on par with western counterparts and TAI is the viable gateway.

I believe Whether Pakistan became a partner or not, TAI will outsource some sections of TF-X to friendly states when It is passed into production. It is done for Anka. I think Pakistan will also be a part of this production. This deal might be a part of this will.

It's already on par and can cater for future upgrades as well.

Why ... IMO there will be no Block 125 F-16C in 2030 in parallel to the F-35 - unless it is not again a marketing plot to sell the Indian AF the old F-16 - and consequently, if the PAF is indeed interested in a 5th generation type be it Azam, a FC-31 or whatever derivate - then there is no need for yet another JF-17.

I share the same opinion. To make JF17 stealthy, a lot of major changes to the airframe will be required. Ironically, JF17 is too small to become a proper stealthy platform with internal bays thus it will be an all new airframe and hence a different airplane..not JF17 but may be JF18 or something else..right now it is called Project Azm which may be a derivative of J31 + some other stuff.

However block 3 and block 4 will be more stealthy than the current blocks due to the use of more composites and perhaps ram and some other minor changes.
