In China a person is born upon conception. I don't know how the law is in the US.

As for ship, a completed ship will rust if not maintained. It's not wether a ship is totally constructed that counts, it's whether it is developed that counts.

Britian used to build bombers but has no more bombers, does this mean Britain has no bombers? I think not.

In the US, we like to wait till a person is born. You do know what they say about not counting you're chickens, right?

It does matter if the ship is totaled built or not. If it's not fully functional and in service, it is useless in battle. Case and point is the current aircraft carrier that China has.

What does it matter after a person is conceived? After all, a baby who is popped out of vayayyay would die if not fed for a day. Plus, what about preterm babies and babies born throug C section?

IMO, it is conception that counts, not popping out of vayayay that counts.

It's about how each of us percieves things. We believe in tangibles, you think a drawing on an art board makes you a superpower.

What is a ship if not for its crew? What is a person other than the electricity that flows through his / her nerves? Heck, all of the US's ships would rot if no one cares for them. Yes the US has many completed warships. But they do not have lives of their own. They need people to care for them.

A carrier that is being built surely counts because it is only a matter of time before it is combat ready. The future has already happened, we are just not there yet. No one can stop time. Time is God's creation.

Sure but then we should wait till its ready before defining the nation as a superpower based on it.

China builds warships, subs, fighter jets, bombers, transport planes, maritime patrol planes, aerial refuellers, tanks, artillery, AWACs, rifles, drones, helicopters, that makes it self sufficient. Carriers are not necessary. Therefore China meets criteria for super power. Heck the US does not even have any conventionally powered subs like China builds.

Then you shouldn't have listed them as one of the criteria for being a superpower.

A carrier is a warship. China has not built a carrier like the US has. The US has not built a conventionally powered sub like China has. Plus, the US navy does not have a frigate like the Chinese navy has frigates. Does this mean, neither China nor the US is a super power?

Yeah, we used to build conventional submarines. BACK IN THE 40s. We've retired most these "new innovations" China is coming up with.

How about a new criteria for a superpower? You can't be considered a superpower unless your per capita GDP hits 20K? Let's see when China gets there.

GDP is a number. It means nothing. You can't eat a number. You can't drink a number. You can't live in a number. You eat food. You drink water. You live in a house.

China would be a super power even if its GDP is 1.

.
Why is there are poll, i mean the number of overseas territories doesnt depend on our opinion/voting. :what:

I think it's a quiz. Think it's designed for the super smart Chinese to put yokels like me in our place :(

All those things come from the "number" in your bank account.
