Outrage Over Swedish Arms Sales to Saudis

I almost wrote the same reply on the sames lines but then i thought these are such childish misconceptions. Kuch nai ho sakta inka :D

It is indeed... women in Saudi Arabia.. live alone, let aside travel alone.
Women owns and runs industries... women from east and west go to SaudiArabi alone to work.

I recently met one American lady inflight who work in Saudi oil company.... so much for the sterotypes.
It is indeed a closed and strictly regulated society but the idea is to keep check on abuse of women...like using them for prostitution etc..

I have seen women in bikinis on both beaches of both red sea and arabian sea but not allowed on public beaches.

Saudis do not consider Israel as Threat nor Does Israel (they kind of have a cordial relation), Saudis consider Iran as a threat and would love Israel or US bomb Iran to Stone Age!

although i believe the isreali and iran would had made an formidable allies if it wasnt for these mullas.. we are the only non arab in the mid east.

Iran and Israel will not ever be on the same footing. The days of the Shah-inspired polices and regional alignment are over. Also, Iran is a multi-ethnic state and we ought to appreciate our differences and moreover we do have a significant population of Iranian Arabs who are equally Iranian as any other. The mentality you purport is what causes Iran to fall.

^^ as a persian i have the right to say what i think, your an iranian and i respect that. but the fact you refer to my iran isreal ally theory as mental is obviouly mental itself because iran should live in a region where they dont threaten or be threaten by anyone.
maybe you misunderstood what i said, i am not saying iran should back isreal in all their crimes but more likely to see them as human beings. we saved them before when cyrus the great liberated them from babylon and i follow that kind doing and believe we have much more to offer than these mullas.

A lot of people think the source of conflict in the Middle East is one of oil... the reality is, it is one of trade, then land, then religion, with roots extending back thousands of years. The area was the cradle of human civilization along with China, but unlike China, it straddled a natural geographic trade route between East and West.

Whoever controlled the area stood to control essentially all the world's trade at the time. People were splintered along tribal and ethnic lines, and then national lines were drawn which were naive and artificial, making the situation far worse.

Iran has a huge potential to stabilize the region, if past baggage and bad events can be put behind everybody.

I did not refer to a formalization of Israeli and Iranian affairs as being 'mental.' In fact I have not used that word. I was the making an allusion to pre-1979 times (rather pre-1974) when the geo-politics and strategic alignments of the region were different and Israel focused itself on what was termed as securing the 'outer rim' which included Iran and Turkey, which secured for Israel a parity stemming from regional powers themselves. With the change in circumstance in the region, such in the same form entirely would be difficult to resurrect.

A re-establishment of formal relations with Israel would have to be done on the basis of numerous changes and resolutions, all of which inherently refers to the Palestinian problem, which lies at the core of the Israeli-Iranian debacle.
