Our idol Mao Zedong - Europeans and the Communist Cultural Revolution

. .
Read your note in the original, as @Nilgiri in 1962, Mao launched a very carefully planned slap-down of this same democracy,
Please stop spreading lies. or leave it in the Indian forum.

carefully planned slap-down —— It usually means. A small country formulates war strategies against a large country. or at least two equally powerful countries. But obviously. India is not a powerful country (at least 1962).
But unfortunately. India has always misjudged its own strength. It thinks it is equal to China's power. So it's strange for Indians - why did we lose to China in 1962? So Indians get conclusion:China sneak attack India. think about it. If China wants to invade India. Really need a sneak attack???
Ask MacArthur!

Let's briefly forget Nehru's "Forward Policy" Let us look at the PRC defines on the 1962 war. —— Self-defence and counterattack(对印自卫反击战). Then the ROC (Taiwan) defines on the 1962 war.—— Punishing India(惩印战争), They are the same - India launched the first attack. But even if India has attacked. China still respects 4,000 Indian prisoners. Strict implementation of the Geneva Conventions(Let me guess, does the Indian government say that China mistreats Indian prisoners?). But how does the Indian government treat Wang Qi???
@Joe Shearer @Nilgiri @Vibrio

India's miscalculation of its own power is hard to understand. and India government is almost the habit of lying.
China lost to India in 1967??? Baby, China owned the atomic bomb in 1964. You know? You can win a nuclear armed country? Even the Soviet Union don't say so!

I know that the Indian government has cheated the Indian people many times. and I have provided evidence many times. But it must be admitted that India has a mouth advantage. After all, English-speaking countries.

Here we need to repeat some facts.

@Joe Shearer @Nilgiri @Vibrio

Why r ppl talking about India in a thread about Mao Zedong?

If anything, his tenure is more about China's engaging and breaking up with the Soviet Union, along with the patching up of ties with the US(Nixon visit) who had assisted defeating the Japanese during world war 2.

The sino-indian war was only a minor chapter when compared to the vastly-major events under his watch such as the development of nuclear weapons, space program, Jian series aircraft and others- all with the help of the SU.

Hence, his later falling over with Gorbachev and the subsequent Sino-soviet war in the Northeast takes more prominence in history on how buddies becAME foes and no, I'm not talking about the one-sided rhetoric from Nehru( Hindi chini bye bye bye bye- whatever) who also one-sidedly tried to see his ex-British colonial backwater inherited from Gandhi, as 'equals' with China who had emerged victorious from both world war 2 and the Chinese civil war.

Thus, if there's any single country worthy of discussion and associated with Mao , its the SU.

Yes...because Aksai Chin is part of Tibetan plateau....so it afforded the opportunity in first place. NEFA (arunachal pradesh today) not so much...hence why Chinese withdrew from there....knowing the logistical disadvantage present (even after any limited breakthrough).

As for the strategy itself employed by India, it was under the assumption/understanding that Hindi-Chini bhai bhai was still in operation to some basic level (that troop occupation of contested areas would not vitiate panchsheel). Obviously that is what @Joe Shearer referencing here when it comes to sneak attack from our perspective....and thus we did not have that assumption in operation anymore after that. It is why we took no chances at all in 1967 and then 1971 and then the last few skirmishes in the 80s.

I don't know why you bring up Macarthur....neither side commited to a theatre level war (either in scale or duration). Tibetan plateau is a huge obstacle for China's logistics in the first place (compared to Indian logistics at the river plains feeding into the passes). You gonna compare Yalu river + open land in manchuria (+ stalin full support) to that?

Both countries did not have coherent well built up militaries (past the numbers) back then to begin with. They only really operated best in open areas. Himalayan passes just becomes defenders+superior logistics advantage wherever the flashpoint happens to be.

Good question. Maybe ask the funny face guy in post #13 that brought India up....and all the people that thanked him for it :P

You will definitely get a promotion for this.

I have marked your post for a reply. Expect to get one no later than the 28th. There are more interesting posts to reply immediately; it is amazing how little bullshit one has to step through in dealing with those others.

1, first we have confirmed. India first attacked. Because China has a logistics disadvantage. India occupies geographical and logistics advantages. This is the basis of the "forward policy".

2, From the perspective of human warfare. Japan attack on Pearl Harbor is a sneak attack. So the US counterattacks. The German "Barbarossa" action was a sneak attack, so the Soviets counterattacked................ so China counterattacked. as for some small-scale border conflicts. Some countries need comfort. They have the right to believe that they win a nuclear armed country.

3, War is the need to consider both the factors. Can't just look at one country, India is too confident about itself. I don't think in 1962 India considered itself a weak country.

in short, we can't believe such a country. —— Oh, we give the seat of the Security Council to China.

Most Chinese don't even care about 1962 war. including me. And I said, just some common sense.

There are many excuses for failure. But please don't repeat it. And bring it into foreign forums.

You bypassed it: "Forward Policy". Who launched the 1962 War? war prisoner.

Who's "we"...lol. Are you being serious or is this another "joke" you have started like the Norway + Canada should be invaded for their "offending"?

Then why resurrect this thread? LOL.

Thank you. your style is very good. you publicized the Indian government objectively and fairly.

I decided to follow you.

oh, Chinese attack on India! the Chinese have acknowledged it. It's worth celebrating. Look how happy Indian soldiers! Although China sneaked into India... But the Indian soldiers are very happy.
