He is the first Christian Major General in the Pakistan Army. He was born in Gawalmandi, Rawalpindi. He got his early education from St Mary’s Cambridge School, Murree Road, Rawalpindi. After, completing his matriculation, he received his military training at the Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul.


He was in the 4 Frontier Force Regiment unit which means the Second hill regiment of infantry. He played a key role in the 1971 war and fought fiercely. In 1971 Major Peter Julian was injured while leading a rifle company but he snubbed evacuation and sustained fighting until surrender. He also commands 31 FF and 41 FF in Lahore and Havelian respectively.

Men of honour, Men of courage . May Allah grant them the highest place in Jannah.

I still remember watching Aziz Bhatti documentary/ teli film on PTV. It always gave me goosebumps and readying about other soldiers who have given their life for Pakistan is inspiring.

We need men in uniform who have honour and who truly understand what it means to wear uniform. May Allah forgive our shortcomings and guide us all to the right path. Ameen

Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed, NH​

He was born on 1 January 1970. He was commissioned in 27th Sind Regiment on 14 October 1994. Captain Karnal Sher Khan emerged as the symbol of mettle and courage during the Kargil conflict at the Line of Control.

He set up personal examples of bravery and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy. He defended five strategic posts, which he established with his soldiers at the height of 17,000 feet in Gultary area. On 5 July 1999, Indians, with the help of two battalions, managed to capture some portion of one of his post. Despite facing all odds, he led a counter-attack and re-captured the lost portion.

Captain Karnal Sher Khan also chased the enemy and conducted many raids in enemy area. During one of such raid, he went inside enemy camp where he inflicted heavy losses. During the battle he received burst of fire in the chest and embraced ‘SHAHADAT’ on 5 July 1999.​

His Nishan-e-Haider wasn't just for the Battle of Tiger Hill. serving in 12 NLI's Delta Company, he led a raid on enemy positions in the Muskhoh Valley on 22 June 1999, taking down a couple of Indian troops, including one with his sidearm..

We are losing these precious lives on daily basis regardless of your malice and curse, armed forced personal are sacrificing their lives to make this heaven peaceful for you people to live in. Tell their parents, siblings, wives and children that these are the tyrants and cowards that laid their life for motherland and that they are going to spend their Eid without their loved ones.

Have some grace and have some manners while talking about your armed forces. It is easy to talk while sitting in cozy bed and sofas rather than standing up to the task with heavy armor, observing fast and saving the nation on those rough a tough mountains and terrains.

Pakistan remembers Kargil war hero Havaldar Lalak Jan on martyrdom anniversary​

RAWALPINDI – The 23rd martyrdom anniversary of Kargil War hero Havaldar Lalak Jan Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, is being observed across the country.

Havaldar Lalak Jan from the Northern Light Infantry regiment was one of the many troops who rendered the ultimate sacrifice during the war fought at the country’s doorstep.

Lalak Jan joined the armed forces in 1984 and was serving in a light infantry regiment headquartered in the country’s northernmost part when clashes broke out in Kargil.

He fought among the leading parties to frustrate the Indian assault in May 1999. He defended back-to-back aggressive ventures by the enemy and imposed losses on them.

During the skirmishes, he sustained serious injuries as enemies pounded the area with heavy mortar shells. Lalak retained his position and frustrated the attacks despite being injured and refused to be evacuated. Later, he succumbed to injuries and embraced martyrdom.

He was regarded as the first soldier from Gilgit-Baltistan to be conferred with Nishan-i-Haider.

Captain Raja Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed (1910–July 27, 1948), 2/1st Punjab, holds the distinction of being awarded with the Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s highest military award, for the first time in the country’s history, owing to the tremendous valour that he displayed in the battlefield during the war in Kashmir and achieving martyrdom in the process.
