Abbottabad is 45 Km due north of Islamabad.
It is 25 km from J&K border, and 60 Km from the LOC.

There can also be possibility of osama hiding in India all these years and USA after all came to know about it hence Indians pushed him into Pakistan through porous LOC where ISI immediately got hold of him and informed CIA hence the operation.Indians play a great game to implicate pakistan but there this plan also failed now with obama's endorsement of Pakistani help in tracing osama.

what a 'tajzia'.... najam sethee ko maat day di aap nay... ;p

UPDATE: CNN_ REPORTING pentagon says. they knew nickname 4 years ago of Osama's courier BUT no clue what his real name was . then they tracked him in 2010

KARACHI: Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has denied the reports that Osama Bin Laden was killed, Geo News reported.

Well, similarly pakistanis have been telling that daud ibrahim is not in pakistan, just like OBL. Someday, we will too get that b@stard out and the world will come to know that he did live in pakistan onlee.

No wonder OBL is killed in the epi-center of global islamic terrorism.

. . . .
America killed his biggest agent... and in islamabad? o_O

its all the part of plan.

Quoted just to highlight some Pakistani people's mentality and rigid denial mode.

IMHO, there are parts of the story that we will never hear.

The chronology, :cheesy::

- Osama WAS inside Pakistan and Pakistani establishment or part of them was aware of it.
- OBAMA was desperate.
- US media's recent outbursts againts Pakistani establishments.
- Pakistan trying to twist too much leverage out of NATO supply routes.
- US showcasing that they can restore NATO supply without Pakistan by shifting part of it through central asia.
- US indicating if they shift their dropne base from Pakistan to Afghanistan, they will pound the terrorist even more.
- The above would have been doom for all Pakistani establishments including ISI & Army.
- Pakistan was now desperate to save face along with US. Don't forget for a moment US & Pakistan still in deep partnership to save their respective faces on this WoT.
- Pakistan plays its trump card by leading US FORCES (why would not Pakistani forces do it???) to the safe house.
- Game, set and match!! Both party wins...

CNN just turned the statement about ISI officials being on ground from an indication of cooperation to an accusation. Now the statement is being talked about as ISI officials not linked to the operation, being on the ground

Dont kid yourself 26/11 was indian govt's operation and planners of 26/11 are ruling Delhi.Even osama i suspect was in india all these years and after feeling heat from USA india quietly puhed him into pakistan across LOC.Abbottabad is 25 km from J&K border, and 60 Km from the LOC.

How old you are 1 month, 2 month or you have born just now.Dumb fool

is there a link to it?

Obama said body is in custody of US and an American member here said it was in Afghanistan and will be buried 7 feet under the ground :P so its so then how can Dunya News show dead body ? dont you think American media will be the first to show the dead body with or without a face

1) The guy who did the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics bombing hid barely within a couple hundred miles--at the most--from Atlanta. He was hunted down in one of the largest manhunts in American history and yet he survived that for months. A few sympathetic people to his 'cause' or whatever is all he needed. In contrast, Pakistan is a hugely-populated country where the law information agencies are mostly inefficient/corrupt. So it was not so difficult for OBL to find some sympathizers, especially after the Bush blunder of invading Iraq.
2) Also, fact is that repeatedly Pakistan's own security apparatuses have been attacked by these AQ and their affiliates.
3) Indeed, there are probably some sympathy for the likes of Talibans based in N. Waziristan for the post-American period. That really does not translate into some love for OBL and Al Qaida. This is a vital point when discussing the apparent Pakistani 'duplicity'. As always, the 800 lbs gorilla is Indian role in Afghanistan.
4) I still can not believe that some people could be so naive or stupid that they rule out significant Pakistani help in hunting down OBL. Drone attacks may be unpopular in Pakistan--they do kill too many civilians. However, more direct involvements are closely approved and watched. A very clear example is that when the ISAF choppers landed inside Pakistan border in an incident that took place in late 2008--shortly after Zardari took power from Musharraf--Pakistani forces responded forcefully to draw a red-line then. I think the line still holds.
5) In reference to #4, it is logistically almost impossible for Americans to send combat troops so deep inside Pakistan to take out OBL without being provided assistance.
6) Cities are just as effective hiding places as the mountains. Indeed, I have always wondered that if OBL was still alive he was probably hiding in some safe-house in a medium to large sized city. My suspicion has been Karachi.
7) Obama's speech was balanced and brilliant. Categorical statement that 'no war against Islam' and that OBL was also an enemy of the people of Pakistan. Obama had both diplomatic carrots and sticks dangling for Pakistan. The carrot was the acknowledgement of Pakistan's role in this OBL hunt as well as specifically mentioning President Zardari by name--the only person named in this speech (?) besides OBL. The stick was the hope that Pakistan will continue to cooperate. Note, still 'continue' is the operative word.
8) @Jana has a valid point here: It must be dilemma for Pakistan to own or disown the extent of Pakistani involvement, given the backlash of terrorism by the militants inside Pakistan or the global pounding of Pakistan's image. BUT...Obama has already quoted Zardari to have 'welcomed' the death of OBL. I can tell where this will go.

PS. Again, let us not rejoice at the death of any human being. Not even of OBL.
