Ordeal of a Pakistani on foreign soil with his green passport

I was pulled out for this "random" security check as well in LA. But I hadn't shaved for like 2 months, so I get their paranoia.

Still not sure if I was "randomly" checked for being a terrorist or a drug mule:lol:
I was pulled for this check first time when I went to US (very close to 9/11). Apparently, it is not the security person to blame. On your boarding pass, they (airline staff during check in) print a code ("SSSS") "randomly". These people are then sent for extra check. Now, how airline people decide, randomly or deliberately is up to guess. My boss knew this and when he got a boarding pass with ssss code on his boarding pass, he made a big fuss and refused accept it and eventually got it changed.

One funny thing which I notice is how well sub continent people get along once out of India and Pakistan..

out of the three founders of my company two are pakistanis, one is Indian, and we have tonnes of Chinese..

I used to think , what if all these guys actually visit the PDF once.. they will be seriously shocked seeing how much we fight..
It is always not true. I heard from my colleague (who was in Chicago and was scheduled to catch a flight) he missed his flight because pakistanis blocked the exits from his neighborhood on the day India won world cup match against Pakistan (during Kargil war). What they did was to go round and round in the "Indian" neighborhood in their cars honking so that none from the locality could get into the main street. They "get along" mostly due to fear of law, not that they like each other very much.

I have a US green card. My father got very sick in india so I am getting an emergecy certificate from indian consulate to travel there. I had applied for a tatkal passport, but they won't do tatkal because it had expired more than 3 years ago. My passport renewal is waiting police clearance from India. So if I travel on emergency certificate i will have to apply for passport in india. Has any green card holder renewed indian passport in india? When you fill passport application..for address, do you give them indian address or american address? They have to do police verification for passports in india. Will they need police verification from USA authorities, since thats my permanent address.

I'm confused here. Your flags here show Pakistan.
Generally you must use your permanent address. But your case seems to be an exception. Better get clarity by calling up the call center. They are usually good. YMMV.
