36 is under first tranche, the follow on order would be under MMRCA.
J-31 would be available for PAF from 2020 that is certain.
It would take 10 years for India to get all it's Rafale's.

Yes - the JF-17 when mated with a ramjet BVRAAM and AWACs can take on a Rafale.
People are talking like the Rafale is F-22 when it is just another 4th generation fighter that means Pakistan's AWACs can see it coming from hundreds of kms away.
What happened to FGFA? Maybe late, but still it would be in Indian inventory by 2025.J-31 would be available for PAF from 2020 that is certain.

So does your adversaries. For all those who are going crazy that what PAF should do after IAF's Rafale deal kindly hold your horses.
PAF is a professional air force and they know that they can't match IAF plane to plane that is why they have a doctrine in which they can utilize their limited resources and PAF also purchase stuff knowing those limitations.
One thing which many are underestimating about PAF is that they are upgrading their air defense capabilities i.e. LY-80E SAMS and JF-17 block-3 with AESA Radar and other advance goodies, those will form important part of system of PAF which is designed to fight as one whole system not as single system.
PAF may not need to go for any new jet immediately if JF-17 block-3 is coming with potent advance avionics.
So does your adversaries.

The prototype is flying day and night. The problem is new engine.2025 is very long ! We are looking for FGFA in 3 years from year of signing the deal . So at east PakFa is for sure in 4 years time
I like your confidence.Yes but Pakistan would have J-31 5 years before IAF.
only option for paf is to get its hands on some chinese 5th generation fighters when chinese had established operational capabilities with this china made stealth planes and that will take some time may be around 2025 paf can order couple of squadrons of FC-31, then again IAF would have already moved on to russian indo JV and home grown AMCA, seriously I dont see any option for our poor neighbors
Yeah ! We are already upgrading our Anti air and Anti ship defence . We are buying whole new range of weapon system for all the three forces . Because the policy is to keep the status quo unchanged. So even of PAF buy 20 J20 IAF will blindly go for 50 PAKFA . (Example)Time will tell that
When will PLAAF receive J31 and J20 ?Yes but Pakistan would have J-31 5 years before IAF.
Knowing HAL - 10years is an overly optimistic number!!J-31 would be available for PAF from 2020 that is certain.
