If india is advising Awami regime to impose emergency to further its oppression, no one would be surprised. Most people already know and realized this Awmi regime is indian puppet. At the same time india can not disown consequences and responsibility of its interference and imposition.

Capital turns into a `forbidden city’ for outsiders

DHAKA: Capital Dhaka has virtually turned into a ‘forbidden city’ as all modes of transport bound for the capital stopped plying following ‘verbal instructions’ from the concerned authorities.

Inter-district buses, and motor launches and steamers suspended their services in a bid to prevent the people from traveling to Dhaka City.

Bus counters stopped issuing tickets for the passengers.Trains continued its service but it is difficult to get tickets, passengers said.

In the capital, almost all inter-city buses stayed off the streets from this (Sunday) morning forcing thousands of office goers and school children to walk down to their destinations. A good number of rickshaws and few private cars were seen on the streets.

In the morning, two passenger launches which came from Barisal were not allowed to anchor at Sadarghat launch terminal.

Some police officers told UNB that the buses stayed off the streets “out of panic” while some bus drivers alleged they were warned that they can ply vehicles at their own risks.

Transport association leaders on condition of anonymity said they had to keep their vehicles off the road due to pressure from local ruling party leaders and MPs.

Previously on the eve of any opposition sponsored hartal, the police authorities used to assure the city dwellers and transport owners of providing security with a request to lead normal life and activities.

But this time round, things seemed to be different. There is no comment from the DMP Commissioner about any assurance of security for the city dwellers.

It appears that all such exercises were aimed at obstructing the BNP-Jamaat leaders, workers and supporters from attending Monday’s grand rally called by BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in the capital.

Consequently, not only the opposition activists but general commuters were also stopped from entering the capital on Sunday and also Monday.

Meanwhile, the police authorities indiscriminately requisitioned hundreds of buses and micro-buses to perform their duty. About 400-500 requisitioned buses and mini-buses were parked at the Rajarbagh Police Lines in the city.

Earlier, the police and intelligence agencies gave verbal restrictions to owners of hotels, guest houses and community centres in the city not to entertain any new boarders or bookings.

It is an english forum, speak english, Indian.

It's a pakistani forum bangladeshi, urdu and english both can be spoken. If you don't like that , please **** off. The only reason Indians care about Bangladeshi politics is that there are fewer border jumpers and terrorists crossing the border from your poor overpopulated country during AL's reign as compared to BNP reign. So , obviously , we would want the AL to stay in power , and eliminate the terrorists and restrict the free movement of Border jumpers. Not that BNP rule will affect much , it will only lead to more border jumpers being shot dead by the BSF.

BNP should postpone this rally for three days.

It's not a bad idea but I think large number of supporters are already in Dhaka. If BNP postpone after all the hype then supporters may loose morale. So, do your best to make this rally successful.

Insh'Allah this will be turning point of Bangladesh politics with the emergence of biggest political alliance in our history.
