Opinion: Providing Firepower to Palestinian Resistance

You don't have an understanding of why our country is officially the "Islamic Republic of Pakistan" because you don't understand the history behind the origin of our nations name.

For starters it was Chaudhary Rehmat Ali's "Now or Never" written in 1933 that introduced the name "Pakistan" but have you actually read his pamphlet and what he advocated for?

The term "Islamic Republic" is to denote that Pakistan was to be a constitutional democracy ruled in accordance with the Quran and Islamic principles.

For example Jinnah made it clear during his 1946 Address to the Students in Deccan:

In Islam, the ultimate obedience belongs to God alone. The only way to follow His Guidance is through the Holy Qur'an. Islam does not preach obedience to a king, parliament, person or any institution. The Islamic government means Rule of the Qur'an. And how can you establish the Rule of the Qur'an without an independent state? In this state, legislation will take place within the boundaries drawn by the Qur'an.”

Jinnah further stated at the Darbar in Sibi, Balochistan on February 14, 1948:

. . . I have one underlying principle in mind, the principle of Muslim democracy. It is my belief that our salvation lies in following the golden rules of conduct set for us by our great law giver, the Prophet of Islam. Let us lay the foundation of our democracy on the basis of truly Islamic ideals and principles. Our Almighty has taught us that 'our decisions in the affairs of the State shall be guided by discussions and consultations'."

Jinnah, even during his final public speech, on April 18, 1948 (4 months before he died) to the students of Edwards College in Peshawar stated:

I am happy to see better things here. What more can one really expect than to see that this mighty land has now been brought under a rule, which is Islamic, Muslim rule, as a sovereign independent State.”

This is why Pakistan is referred to as an "Islamic Republic".

What's difficult to understand about this?

Again I am not saying dont call it IR of Pakistan or Pakistan. The Islamic identity is central to Pakistan. However be careful not to give one group too much sway on the affairs of governance. Strike a balance so all parties moderate each other. Swaying to either side of the pendulum will never benefit Pakistan or any other nation. It is a central rule of human history.

“You are free; you are free to go to your temples. You are free to go to your mosques or to any other places of worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion, caste or creed—that has nothing to do with the business of the state.”
― Muhammad Ali Jinnah

Muhammad Ali Jinnah
“The great majority of us are Muslims. We follow the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed (may peace be upon him). We are members of the brotherhood of Islam in which all are equal in rights, dignity and self-respect. Consequently, we have a special and a very deep sense of unity. But make no mistake: Pakistan is not a theocracy or anything like it.”
― Muhammad Ali Jinnah

What you suggested will kill more Palestinian women and kids, this kind of thing that some Israeli likes since they can use it as pretext to kill more Palestinian civilians, damage their infrastructure, and destroy their home.

Neither Hamas nor Lebanase can withstand against Israel. What you suggested is similar like some Neocons in US feel happy with the destruction of WTC by fool and stupid Alqaeda because they can use it as pretext to invade both Afghan and Iraq.

This rocket will bring more harm to Palestinian than to Israeli, and anyway Islam forbid killing civillan.
Your argument reminds me of the supporters of apartheid who used to say don't impose embargo because it will hurt the blacks.

Jordan will not allow us to pass through their territories to deliver the weapons to Palestinians because there are many reasons and one among them is when PLO was came in to being first thing they did was to attacked the Jordanian royal family and tried to assassinated them and then Jordan call up pakistan and Zia ul Haq helped them to deal with Palestinians, remember this guy?

It's time Pakistani establishment and government grows balls and show guts and demand Egypt and Jordan to give us route to supply Palestinians with weapons with which they can unleash hell on Israel. It's very clear that Israel will use every chance to attack us through use of our neighbor India. It's time to return the favor and it's time to defend Qibla e Awwal.

Pakistan needs to equip the resistance with cruise missiles and other weapons and also help them improve their rockets and their speeds. Plus provide them with latest Anti Tank and other weapons. We have to face ALLAH and his RASOOL SAW have some shame. I wonder with which face we are going to face ALLAH and his RASOOL SAW
And attract international sanctions like Iran ? Pakistan alone cant do anything. We need allies for which we are working with turkey but rest of the mislim countries r sleeping

In the dominion of Islamic republic of Pakistan, No, he did occupy the position of extraordinary power at his disposal. Rest of the entities outside the realm of Pakistan do not matter, and if they are such powerful or any better to begin with, irrelevant matters. So when such person is making an statement on record, you must pay heed, listen carefully, analyse what was said, for your own benefit..

Please keep in mind that he was an excellent Project Manager for those who directed and funded said project, the one that you blithely discard as being irrelevant.

If you have fire power, and you can't use it, trust me, Palestinians will not be able to use it. Its the fire power that we need. It's just some determination that we need. The determination, that ok, the for Israel and Israelis is up. And we will not leave them, whatsoever.
Just like Talibs of Afghanistan.

IMO the best way is to promote boycotts of Israel all over the world. International pressure, sanctions, and widespread condemnation is what will put enough pressure on the Israelis. They already have a monopoly of arms and war-fighting capability in the region, it would be pretty useless to propose another Hamas/Hezbollah style militancy, especially given that crude weapons and tactics invariably lead to civilian casualties, which are inherently unconscionable. As an example from history, one of the major contributors to forcing the end of apartheid in South Africa was international pressure, sanctions, and boycotts. And this example is very well applicable to the modern apartheid state of Israel.

Right now, the BDS movement against Israel is really quite small and it has only really started working on placing pressure on enterprises operating from within the occupied territories. However, there have been some minor victories in the past such as a binding 2013 EU directive that placed mostly light sanctions on those illegally occupied territories.

Already western public opinion on Israel is much worse than where it was in previous decades, mainstream news has always exhibited a bias towards the Israeli view, or simply by virtue of seeking neutrality on an otherwise clear-cut issue, their coverage has thus been questionable. But with the mass proliferation of social media, a lot of international audiences have really become awakened as to the sheer brazen illegality of Israel's actions, and their indefensible belligerence. Public opinion has been shifting to a large extent all over Europe, and the difference is especially stark in academic circles and among the younger generation. Both of these groups have led their own versions of boycotts and pro-Palestinian activism.

Ultimately, I think this is what is most likely to force a change of the status quo. It is long term, and a slow burn, but the more Israel transgresses, the worse it will get for them. The harder it will be to hold back movements like BDS through contrived accusations of widespread anti-semitism, or for coverage of Israel to continue portraying the conflict as anything other than the result of an illegal Israeli occupation.

Any Muslim leader who vowed to help the Palestinian cause met their fate courtesy of Uncle Sam. Few names being King Faisal, ZA Bhutto, Yasser Arafat and Saddam ETC. Saying that it shames me to the core of how much IMPOTENT one and a half billion Muslims are that cannot free our Qibla Auwal from a handful of Zionists. I am a firm believer in the fact that most leaders and generals of the Islamic world are on the payroll of Uncle Sam and others.
Some slow and benign ways to help the Palestinian cause maybe...
1)Private fundings and donations.
2)Armed Volunteers.
3)Providing Technical know-how of weaponry.
4)Providing ample raw materials and chemicals for prolonged warfare.
5) Dedicated SM teams for propaganda.
6) Rallies to support and convince regimes in their own countries.
7)Boycott products of Israel.
8)Regular protests outside Israeli missions.
9)Maybe HARASS Israeli interests Worldwide.
10) Wake up the head of the Islamic Army, General Raheel Shareef!

In my hearts of hearts, the speedy solution is a GRAND attack on Israel by the Combined Islamic Armies from air, land and sea. Will this ever happen is a DREAM that I have always cherished in my life. We just need another Saladin amidst us .AllahuAkbar

Gaza has been demanding a port for very long now. Pakistan can work to push Gulfies to pressure Israel to allow that. I think the Gulfies are ready to finance it. Once the port is active we can start 'trading' with them ;);)

The international community (incl EU and US) still recognise Gaza has Palestine land and not Israel. I wonder what will happen if Palestine gov invites some Muslim army's to support them just like a sovereign Syria invited Russia. We can land with landing docks and amphibious boats while there is no port. Rudimentary style, improvised like Dunkirk in WWII.

And how will these Cruise Missiles, Anti Tank Weapons and these other Fancy Weapons be delivered to the Palestinians? Who will train them how to use these sophisticated weapons? Not to mention, this act will result in massive sanctions aimed towards Pakistan.

Egypt and Jordan have excellent relations with the Israelis and don't want to supply Hamas or West Bank with any weapons. Jordan already has horrible experience of supporting the PLO in the 70's when the PLO in turn tried to overthrow the Royal Family of Jordan and take over the country. They won't be allowing any weapons flowing from their territory any time soon, same with Egypt.

We need to accept the reality. Palestine can simply not fight the Israelis. The Israelis have successfully disarmed the Palestinians. They have built technology that makes Rockets, Tunnels etc largely redundant. The Rich Arab World have largely allied with Israel to counter Iran. Palestine is not a an important topic for the Oil Rich Arab World anymore. The best way forward is for Hamas to disarm, renounce violence and accept Israel's right to existence. This is how they will gain international sympathy and hopefully this will pressurize Israel to scale its operations back.

The Palestinian leadership has only itself to blame for this BTW. They were offered peace, not once but five times and quiet generous terms by the Israelis. Guess what, the Palestinian leadership rejected it every time. Now bear the consequences for your decisions. They certainly won't get the same terms offered before, but again, something is better then nothing.

Agreed. This war cannot be fought in the battlefield. This can only be fought in the hearts and minds of people around the world. BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanction) is the only way and one that Israel fears the most.
