Gujarat polls: Saurabh Patel to take over from Modi?

Saurabh Patel, a close aide of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, is being touted as his potential successor amidst speculation of Modi assuming a greater role in national politics.

Fifty-four years old Patel holds an MBA degree from United States and is reportedly related to Dhirubhai Ambani’s family. He had played a key role in shaping Modi’s election campaign.

Interestingly, Patel’s constituency was recently shifted from Botad to Akota in Vadodara city to ensure his win in the Gujarat polls.

Patel is currently the Minister of State for Industry and has held portfolios like finance, industries, petrochemicals, minerals and civil aviations.

2. Anandiben Patel (supposedly being groomed by NaMo)

Actually Saurabh Patel is closer to the Adani Group than Ambani. His wife is from the Ambani family.
