The planner of this OP clearly didn't used C-130 for recon purposes before sending in the troops until push come to shove and Our Faujis started to die in large numbers.

If C-130 were used properly, the dug outs, sniper positions, large concentrations of enemy could have been spotted after extensive recce.

at least 2 C-130's are acknowledged with star saffire systems which could do an 8 hour recce, With both employed in 12 am - 8 Am and in evening to night shift as in these timings terrorists mostly moved here and there, we could had mapped them out easily.

Retired Major A.H.Amin had rightly pointed out in his articles that Upper echelon sitting in there offices usually employ Scorched earth techniques to get things done quickly so they get accolades and promotions

FLIR would not any use if they were hiding in caves. Despite dense jungle, wouldn't FLIR easily identify heat signatures?

I dont know what type of Infra red PAF uses..
But here British police uses IR cameras during police chases and are very effective in finding crooks in dense vegitation due to heat signature

PAF FLIR has face recognition features which means it has a large zoom.

no in fact there is a high quality video on ******** where the taliban hiding under shade are filming with an apache overhead the footage was recovered after they had been eliminated by ground forces....

I don't know the specifics, but the guy I talked to said that anything from the air is pretty pointless unless you are willing to just bomb the whole place to oblivion. You can't see anything from the air...very thick vegetation.

It's all infantry, and when they have positive ID on TTP presence, they call in PAF which pretty much bombs the whole area to ground, not alot of precision or anything.

F-16 and JF-17 should b used on karachi where terrorism and target killings are taking place. Next entire south punjab should be bombarded due to presence of punjabi talibans there.

Fighter jets can also not be used in mountainous regions.... It's difficult

This is why all the strikes are precise on targets, using JDAMs and LGBs instead of just bombing every corner of valley and saving the casualties at our side.
