Thats y i hate Urdu newspapers as they think their target readers are ignorant and wud be easily appeased by any new "Shosha" they would show. U would never find such a news in the English version of very same newspaper.

Police contingent taking part in operation was poorly equipped and consistent supply of weapons and support was not made sure. Poor guys had to face the brunt for inefficiency of their seniors. That is why Army and Rangers have reportedly stepped in. RIP the fallen ones.

Hmmm.....but isn't this the same police force that actually allowed these 2 bit common dacoits to become so strong over the last 15-20 years by not taking appropriate actions against them when they were small time? Could these dacoits have become so strong without the patronage of the LEAs and local politicians? Isn't the same police department as much to blame as the dacoits themselves?

Will there be any accountability as to how and why these criminals were allowed to become hardened, united and such a nuisance?

Main problem is politicizing of the LEAs. May it be Police, Customs, Narcotics etc. One of the anchors few months back had visited the same Chotu group and they told him that had U come few days ago then we wud have shown U some of our celebrations in which area SSP Police was also invited. So what else can we expect from such people on ground.

For those here are saying why the Army hasn't finished the job yet ? ... Army does not want to kill him, if that were the target he would have been killed they day Army took over the command of the operation ... unlike Police who wants him dead & have no plan to leave him alive even after eh surrenders.... Army wants him Alive so he can talk and give names of his facilitators & Supporters ( Most of which are in ruling party) .... once of the reasons Punjab gov did not wanted to involve Army or Rangers in this operation ...

Chotu gang has surrendered.. They have given up arms and chotu has called all its men to surrender.. They had only one condition.

They will not be handed over to police and will stay under army imprisonment. Their trial will happen in army courts..

They trusted the army over those police men.
