24 Channel is reporting that operation against chotu gang is related to CPEC. The Rajanpur Lies in the route of CPEC. that is why , after five failed operations , army has taken in charge. The security of CPEC and Chinese engineers is the responsibility of Army. That is why , army is conducting operation. Can any one confirm this news?
If you look at the route of CPEC and look at suspected militant regional commands, delaying meaningful action will result in tremendous unattended risks across Punjab. The fact that these risks are very real without CPEC and should have been attended earlier is not lost on me, however your query was specific to CPEC.
Speaking of likelihoods, i shall draw a logical picture as the entire world revolves at meeting their own requirements and denying same to their rivals.
The government of our neighboring country has openly declared CPEC as an irritant.
There is a very grave risk that the local militants can target and destabilize this project.
These local militants are our responsibility since they came into being and I am not denying this at all.
However, the very real risk of foreign support in targeting CPEC makes it even more critical to get rid of them, sooner than later.
To me personally, a major advantage of CPEC can be to actually force the hand of our Government in cleaning up its act via militancy in Punjab. Whether they do it the old fashioned way and get burnt via truces and betrayals or they conduct quick strike operations to cut off the head of the snake before considering surrenders etc; that is not yet clear to me.
I hope and pray that they have learnt the lessons of the last decade or so and the goons like Rana Sanaullah are made irrelevant by focusing on quick and meaningful actions, as opposed to dragging their feet in addressing the militancy issue in which Rana Sanaullah has played a major role.
