One million tourists visit Pakistan this year

Inflated number to set confidence across the globe. Good marketing tactics. But the number is slightly below 500K. It needs to go above 1 Million this year and gradually over 5 million the next year. Pakistan needs to ensure the political drama ends (that's why Army jumped in and told IK to sleep till 2018), these steps are critical to bringing tourism to Pakistan!!

IF one million "tourists" visited Pakistan this year, then the balance sheet, assuming a lowball revenue figure of $1000 per tourist per visit, would show receipts of a BILLION dollars in foreign exchange. Is that so?

even better that one billion is converted and spent/distrubuted amongst all Pakistanis right away.

TDCP, I read a report just a few weeks ago. They shared the data with WB and ADB as Pakistan plans on investing heavily into the Northern areas from a tourists standpoint, create more infrastructure and all. They'll publish these numbers in January of next year as the year is still not finished yet.

Pakistan used to have a hippy trail till as far back as the 70s, after which Zia happened.. met a couple of old timers recently and they were recalling how it used to be a headache for them with intel people both sides highly suspicious of them but all they wanted was to connect with other travelers across the border.

if you can fix the security/social situation, a bunch of people would travel to there again, including the higher end ones who make you the money.
