OFFICIAL INVITATION OF IDEAS 2016 HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO CZECH REPUBLIC
Islamabad: March 10, 2016
Ambassador of Czech Republic, H.E. Jon Fury, called on Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain at MoDP on Thursday. The purpose of visit was to explore new avenues of Defence Cooperation between the two countries. Welcoming the Ambassador, Minister of Defence Production appreciated military support provided to Pakistan’s armed forces in providing various equipment for the Air force and over hauling of Army Aviation assets.
The meeting acknowledged the fact that both the countries had greater potential in the field of defence production which needed to be explored for the mutual benefits of the two sides. Formal invitation of IDEAS 2016 was extended to Czech Republic.
“Pakistan is keen to promote closer partnership and meaningful defence cooperation with Czech Republic”, said Rana Tanveer Hussain. He hoped that Pakistan and Czech Republic would pave a way for promoting and strengthening closer defence cooperation.
The Ambassador admired the HIT Taxila and POF Wah.He mentioned about a previous agreement between WahBrass Mill Pvt. Ltd. & M/s. Vitkovic Czech Republic for up-gradation of existing Brass Mill. He was more interested in cooperation between military academies of both countries. He invited Pakistani pilots for air show in Czech Republic in October 2016
Both countries are strategic partner to maintain regional stability. Czech Republic has long tradition of defence industry and reliable technology. Back in 2010 Pakistan and Czech Republic signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to increase military and defence cooperation between the two countries.
