gr8 chance....but why U.S is much giving leverage to turkey??can some body tell?

1. Because Turkey is an important NATO ally.

2. The US of A needs to ensure that an important Muslim country like Turkey is on its side and thus providing it modern weaponry to ensure it stays dependent and beholden to them. Though Saudi Arabia isn't part of NATO just yet due to the geopolitical dynamics of West Asia, the U.S. has pumped in billions of dollars worth of military equipment making SA wholly dependent on it. This way the US of A has ensured a permanent foothold in the area.

3. To make the Turkish Army more Westernized and secular and wean it away from religious fundamentalism.
