Obama to push for more defence deals with India in 2nd term

Oh that :D I know that but it's 2012 and Russia is in better position than USSR in 1990

And US-India relations are not Pak centric anymore. And whatever objection US had that time ( mainly to restrict India from having long range missile I guess ) are not valid anymore ( as we have A-5 and soon A-6 too )

So let's hope we get hand on that tech so our GSLV come out soon.

I think u are getting it wrong, it was not USSR but Russia which was pressurized by USA due to dual nature of the engines, if the USSR would not have disintegrated than the US could no way had pressurized them since USSR itself was a superpower but Russia was in shatters post disintegration, the US did same for our continuation of the INS Chakra I submarine which we bought from USSR on lease in 1988 & leased expired in 1991, but Russia din't renew the lease b'coz of US pressure.

You didn't read properly mate ;) I am saying exactly what you are writing
Russia is in better position than USSR in 1990. That's a fact. USSR shrink to milletry super power in last 5 years before disintegration. And I think that was the fuel for integration besides falling economy and external help.
Rise of Russia to challenging state start after 1999. And it's still continue.

.
As per keen watchers of the defence industry, there will be “renewed thrust” from Obama on signing of more defence deals with India to help the economic crises back home.

There may be plenty of truth in the basic thrust of the article about more defence sales to India but the above line is as stupid as it gets. Does the author really think that the U.S. economy will get a "tremendous" boost out of any Indian purchase? Does the author even understand the size of the U.S. economy or indeed how many billions are there in 5 trillion dollars (size of the deficit)...?

Yes, because they don't share techs and don't have AIP propulsions for subs, because they only use nuclear propulsions.

USA don't have AIP ??? That's news to me.

And that was a wish list to Santa but I guess Sancho ruin it :D

They use nuclear subs only, even France have developed it only for exports since they also use only nuclear prolulsions in their subs and no diesel - electric subs.

Sorry, just make a new list! ;)

Let me help you:

1. CV-22 for IAF to transport special forces
1.2. MV-22 MRTT for the long range transport and tanker roles on out carriers
1.3. SV-22 MPA for our carriers and possibly LHDs, for long range ASW hunting and with common systems to P8I
1.4. EV-22 AEW for all IN carriers and LHDs, with DRDO AEW system

2. SV-22 and EV-22 developed and produced in India for Indian forces and export customers, to reduce costs. Boeing maintenance facility in India for V22, Apaches and if selected Ch47s.

3. No operational restrictions for Indian forces!!!

CV-22 is translated in plane English as "Heli with long operating range" wiki has a nice explanation and images

He is saying it for SF. So low number so cost won't be a issue.

Export depends on the need of customers. Even Rafale is first deal for France. Indian SF definatly need something like V-22 it will reduce the reaction time

I think India should ask for a deeply-refitted USS Enterprise with Rafale-M jets.

We need more carriers to complement the Gorshkov (Vicki) and IAC-1 Vikrant by 2018.

I want atleast a 4-carrier fleet by 2025.

1. Vikramaditya (Admiral Gorshkov) --- MiG-29K
2. Project-71 Vikrant (IAC-1) --- NLCA Tejas, MiG-29K
3. Project-71A/72(?) Vishaal (IAC-2) --- Naval FGFA
4. Enterprise-class --- Rafale-M
