Amnesty to illegal immigrants has nothing to do with Indian diplomacy or Indian origin bureaucrats. Its just plain domestic US politics driven to some degree by compassion towards human rights of children born to these immigrants. That being said, Indians, highly skilled in STEM fields who for the most part come here legally, still have to go through the grinding bureaucracy to get work permits or permanent status, which takes years, if not decades!!
