Number of people killed in Kashmir from 1990 to 2011 revealed

It is more than what is mentioned in the article but is much less than 100,000.

Actually its less than half of what is claimed and spread as a propoganda against india by pakistan and its supported terror outfits.Here's what the data says:
In the last 21 years,
43,460 people have been killed in the Kashmir insurgency.
Of these,
21,323 are militants
13,226 civilians killed by militants
3,642 civilians killed by security forces
5,369 policemen killed by militants.

The Indian and Pakistani govt's are equally responsible for the suffering of the Kashmiri people.

Suggestion: Make Kashmir an independent country.

Just look how kashmir flourished before 1980 when paksitan realized that kashmir belongs to it, after 33 years of its independence. They knew very well that they cannot win this war head on with india so they tried the same policy that they applied in afghanistan i.e. created armed militia to fight this war. This issue was simply created to take revenge of freedom of east pakistan. Their ego was shattered.

Do you really think that creating an independent kashmir is such an easy task?

What about pakistan occupied kashmir?? Are they willing to let it go??

What about the part of kashmir that was ceded to china by pakistan?? Are chinese willing to give up their part??

What is the gurantee that pakistan will not try to annex kashmir once more??

What about rights of millions of kashmiri pundits who were driven out of kashmir by terrorists?? They too have their claim over kashmir.

I am pretty much sure that pakistanis are not fighting for kashmir to make it an independent country, they want kashmir for themselves. Otherwise it doesn't make any sense for them to fight this seemingly endless war.

Kashmir always flourished under india. It was pakistan who ruined it.

Independent Kahmir will be land-locked country heavily dependent on India and Pakistan for their survival. Thats why it had to join either India or Pakistan. I think the plebscite still can happen under UN. But there should be seperate election for seperate zone - Northern areas, Kashmir Valley, Jammu and Ladakh.

No, creating a new country and making it flourish is not an easy task.

I just see India and Pakistan fighting over Kashmir, and thus think it's better to let Kashmiri's rule themselves.

So it's up to India and Pakistan to *both* stop fighting over/for Kashmir.

More or Less Killing is there in Kashmir and all Credit goes to Indian Forces
all Credit goes to the UN who are even now not able to move India to let Kashmir go as per 1948 Decisions.
and above All The credit goes to ,Kashmiris themselves who despite any help are standing for their Right for their Freedom

There's a thing called "commerce" that will allow a landlocked country to flourish, AND maintain good relations with all of it's neighbors.

Kashmir's terrain is mountaineous. Most of it is unfit for cultivation. Most of the cultivation done there is of fruits and spices only. It will be unable to feed its people.

Kashmir enjoys special priviliges from india. India sends food grains at dirt rate prices. And all the major markets in north india have quota for kashmir produced fruits. India does every thing for kashmir.

For proper trade and commerce kashmir need ti have something that it can pay in return of all the food and utilities supplied to it by any country. And kashmir is not in a position to do this.
