USSR's R-29RM was 8000 KM in range, it was a liquid fueled SLBM, which is nowhere near efficient compared to the solid fueled SLBM and its modern liquid fueled counterparts.

China's JL-2 is a 8000+ KM solid fueled SLBM, also becoming reliable now to patrol with six Type 094 SSBNs.

That's quite an achievement second after the American SSBN fleet, and on par with the modern Russian SSBN fleet.

The 12K version is already deployed.

It uses the stronger solid fuel propellant N15 (2854 N*S / kg) than the NEPE (2658 N*S/ kg) of Trident II.

JL-3 is also 12K, but it can carry at least 10 warheads with that range, which will be by far the most powerful SLBM that ever developed in the history.

The latest JL-2 version can hit 8000 KM with eight thermonuclear warheads, but when the payload is reduced with four thermonuclear warheads, then the range will also increase.

That's the common sense.
