Bit over-dramatic, aren't we? Do you even have an idea what do or die situation really is? How was it a do or die situation in any regard?

By the way, I don't know what you mean by "hang in chock", however, I must insist that Nawaz Sharif was the Prime Minister of the Country and hence Prime Minister to all of us, much to my dislike.

What you are emphasizing is your own wish; a sitting Prime Minister has to be impervious to the general whims and wishes of Citizens if he has to take strong independent decisions which are in the larger interest of the country. Fortunately, 9/11 happened very soon after and Pakistan became an important ally to the US otherwise the crippling sanctions post our Nuclear Tests, albeit the pride of the nation, meant that we were going to default on our payments after which we would NOT be able to buy even OIL.

History is full of nations whose pride led to their downfall. The country needs to be very very smart to navigate international waters and to gain financial parity with leading nations of the world, that would increase our strength and respect internationally. Israel is a KNOWN Nuclear Power, just like Pakistan was in 1998 even before the tests, and is surrounded by anti-Israel forces since inception but has NEVER tested a Nuclear weapon, they play smart and not emotional. Look where they are now.
