That and also the changing geo-political situation and the pressure from the US for creating the free world that America can dominate. British did not leave because of Gandhi or Jinnah, they left because they were broke after the WW2.

British ruled India because of the alliances with the Princely states and Princely states themselves were aware that the destruction which occured in Britian and Europe will take years to rebuild.

Indian army after the end of second world war was well trained and were able to retake the power.
