Lets hope this happen in Bangladesh because we are not that lucky. Here in Pakistan bhutto zinda ha (Bhutto is alive) is still a famous slogan despite bhutto is dead more than four decades ago. Infact even his last child (benazir) died a decade ago but our jahil awam is still not over with craze of bhutto.

Political dynasties also loose it's appeal after a certain period. Not every heir is charismatic like Indira Gandhi, Sheikh Hasina or Benazir Bhutto. Like dynasties that produce one, two or three capable king/emperor but a lot of incompetent king/emperor, political dynasties also can not produce capable leader in each generation. With times, people's memory with original leader's legacy fades and the incompetency of the current heir become too repelling. I don't think Bilawal Bhutto will ever could become PM of Pakistan or Rahul Gandhi for India. For Bangladesh, Hasina's son may come to power by exploiting his mother's image but his position will not be secure if democracy stabilize in Bangladesh. Hasina's son still could not make any popular base for himself in Bangladesh. Without his mother and grand father, he is nothing. Political dynasties are inherently vulnerable in front of merit based political parties.

Larger picture this is the century where Europe and its group countries are floursihing since last 2 centuries. But if you go just beyond 2 centuries when 2 of the world most powerful economies were subcontinent and Turkey both of them were highly religious countries.

Similarly Italy and Ukraine are both at same level of religiousity but Ukraine in East Europe is poor but Italy in West Europe is Rich.

If you analyze world history of past 2 centuries then there was Europe ruling the whole world during 18th century then in 19th century Europe start fighting themselves. The allied won during world war 2 and became rich. Japan subsequently surrendered and joined the allied and hence those allied countries became the rick nation.

According to local media reports, Bangladesh has decided to buy advances military weapons from NORINCO and other Chinese state-owned companies in a bid to achieve Forces Goal 2030, a move to modernise the country's armed forces.

The latest purchase includes tanks, missiles and other military weapons and is part of Bangladesh's ambitious Forces Goal 2030, a modernisation program of the country's Armed Forces which began in 2009.

As part of the Forces Goal 2030, Bangladesh aims to equip its military with modern gear like Night Vision Goggles (NVG), Ballistic helmets, Eye protective gear, Bulletproof vest, person to person communicators, palmtop GPS device and BD-08 assault rifles with a Collimator sight.

Since 2009, Bangladesh has purchased 650 BTR-80 APCs, 50 Otokar Cobra I LAVs, 50 Otokar Cobra II MRAPs and several BOV M11 armoured reconnaissance vehicles. Most of these were bought from China, which happens to be Dhaka's largest weapons supplier.

As Bangladesh's saviour and all-weather ally, India has been financing many of Dhaka's development projects in power, railways, road and transport, health and technical education in addition to investments in textiles, banking and telecommunications.

In 2017-18, bilateral trade between India and Bangladesh was USD 9.5 billion with India's exports pegged at USD 8.6 billion and imports at just USD 0.87 billion. This means India provides most goods and services to Bangladesh.

Experts believe if Dhaka chooses China over India, it may severely dent the country's overall development and will be considered economic suicide by the country. Given the trade deficit, Bangladesh stands to lose much more if the country chooses China over India.

IMO BD is a free country and it is up to them for decision on defence purchases.
We all know that, BD's armed forces either equipped with Chinese hardware and in future going to be a mix of USA and Chinese.
Just an off topic, my concern is, in case of mix, will BD is also going to face US strings like not to participate in certain military games with US equipment if China is also involved in those games?
Will US also maintain the presence of her military reps on BD military basis where US equipment will be located - for monitoring as it does with Pakistan (specific to F16)?

Galwan valley incident might seem small but in reality it has shown that no one can rely on Indians and they are bunch of wuss who cant even protect themselves so how can they protect others. Anyways going to china for defense products is always a wise choice considering their economy of scale meaning capable low cost products which Bangladesh can induct in sizable numbers.

We now need an aircraft carrier to effectively counter Indian Sukhois based in A-N Islands and breach a naval blockade. Bangladeshi would be kicking Burma's a$$ today if we had possession of the Island.

First of all, our access to high seas(international water) is not dependent on using Indian or Burmese water because our maritime boundary has direct access to the international water. So, if India or Myanmar for any reason ban entering our ships in their water, we will not have any problem accessing global maritime trade.

Secondly, naval blockade is an act of war. So it does not happen unless two country goes to war. India can not blockade Bangladesh at whims. And Indian scope of blockading Bangladesh would be even less tenable if China or USA maintain strong presence in Bay of Bengal and Bangladesh maintain close co-operation with that power.

Thirdly, effect of Naval blockade is not immediate. It take at least a few months to feel the heat of the blockade if the blockaded country is self sufficient in food and fuel. We are largely self sufficient in major food items and if we create a strategic reserve of petroleum for at least 4-6 months, we can cope with any blockade until a cease fire is agreed upon. Our most of energy still comes from domestic gas. So, with our robust agriculture, domestic gas and reserved petroleum stock, it would be many months before we feel the real heat of blockade.

Fourthly, we do not need aircraft carrier to break any hypothetical blockade. A strong Submarine fleet with cruise missile, torpedo would take care of Sukhoi and other blockading surface ships and submarine. We are marching in this direction. What do think about our 1.2 billion dollar Submarine base in Pekua, Cox's Bazar? Just to shelter our two Ming class Submarine? This Submarine base will be able to shelter dozens of Submarine. Our full-fledged Naval base in Rabnabad, Patuakhali will also act as a Submarine base. So we are looking at a much stronger Submarine force in BN in the future.

India has always employed bullying tactics under its guise of regional cooperation. Congress leadership had kept diplomatic relations to its prime and had managed to isolate Pakistan in this region but BJP being bunch of Racist and hegemonic reverted back entire decade worth of goodwill for sake of their Hindutva pride. I feel soon Bangladeshi border front will also heat up when Modi govt will start repatriating Bengali refugees en mass.
