Adam Yauch: A Beastie Boy tamed by age and wisdom - latimes.com

Adam Yauch founded the Beastie Boys, who were pretty popular in the 90's. I actually bought their album 'Hello Nasty'; this was before everyone pirated music on the internet, but I threw it out after I discovered he was an whacko who supported Tibetan secessionism and had been funneling money to militant extremist groups, using his 'freedom concerts' as a front.

There's a special place in hell for vermin like him :)

Care to enlighten me on the militant extremist groups existing in Tibet or outside of Tibet?

I think what they meant was the Tibetan Armed Rebellion supported by the ROC and CIA against the Communists in 1959. The Indian government believed that Tibet should remain a neutral zone of influence, as it did under Raj and the Chinese civil war, but the PRC preceived it as an integral part of the country. Three years down the road, things turned sour for both countries.

But in all honesty, the Tibetan rebellion was staged by the Buddhist oligarchy, which had little support from the peasants. The serfs actually supported the Communists. They are regretting it now, however, since the PRC nationalized all the land, and are redistributing it to privileged Tibetans and Han immigrant developers. The PRC promised a socialist paradise for the Tibetans, but in reality, just like all Chinese citizens, they are just slaves because they cannot own their own land. They can only rent it from the government for 75 years.

Back in the 60s, when the Republic of China forces in Southern China have not yet been defeated, their supporters and the CIA, trained Tibetan guerrilla fighters. There are none left today, since criminal groups are almost immediately eradicated in Communist regimes, but that is what they're referring to.

There might have been some militants in 60s. He was claiming that Yauch was providing money to militant extremist groups and I was not aware of any such groups recently. So was my question. Also the misleading title is not good.

So you become a slave if you are not allowed to own land?
is that a part of CA's culture?

I will miss him. But Tibetan sepratist? Not a hollywood boy, as far as I'm concerned Tibet has always been "Chinese." At least racialy and culturaly. It has some cultural bleed from India, but it is the slave-holding Tibetan elite who perpetuate nthe myth.

Land ownership is an integral part of Anglo culture. The plantation owners are a perfect example. India also has a culture of land ownership. That is why most Indians today are tenant farmers who own no land and are bonded debt slaves to their master plantations. If they try to escape, their fate is just as bad as the slaves on plantations in the 19th century.

90% of Mayfair London is on leasehold from the Duke of Westminster who owns all the land. Unless the Saudis and Qataris are keeping slaves in their embassy, there are no slaves there.

Ever Heard of the Land Reforms?? Also, do you understand the difference between MANY, MOST, FEW and SOME? I hope you use them properly. Of course, your HIGH IQ should help you. :cheesy:

I was surprised when I found out this thread was about Adam from the Beastie boys.

If this guy deserves to burn in hell, I wonder where Mao (who killed up to 70 million Chinese in peacetime with his insane policies) deserves to go.
