The F 16s, IF they come will come at a time hen we will be retiring some old aircrafts and free up some support room. Hence the future of IAF is not a complete mixture of many aircrafts as perceived by many.

mixed pickle airforce is lost its air superiority. now pakistan airforce dominat south asia skies. this is hard truth.

Although I am not a fan of buying F 16 but can you elaborate what is obsolete in F 16 blk 70 in terms of engine, FCS, FlCS and avionics from a 4th Gen plane point of view? and how many our adversaries can out beat us in the available techs in F 16?

india only buying f16 after seeing its sucess in pakistan air force. india is copy cat. for so many years i hear from indian members that russian sukoi is better and pakistan f16 isn't. but now india too is is buying f16.
now they say f16 good.

India need more 200 fighter jets to replace Mig21s. Getting 200 Rafale will bankrupt India. For each Rafale India can get 3 F16 or 2 Gripen. It make sense as India needs 45 squadron to take on both Pakistan and China.

How ever I would not discount Rafale for Indian Navy. They are at forefront in the competition for Naval tender.
